I have been trying to get some resources that presents and discuss the many heresies since the apostolic time, but by name and an explanation of its origin, defender's and apologists. I have the book 'Heresies' by Brown, but would like to see a more direct and brief explanation. Any suggestion?

I would suggest a theological encyclopedia, like the New Dictionary of Theology (NDT) or the Evangelical Dictionary of Theology (EDT).  Each particular heresy would have a separate entry in the resource.  Both NDT and EDT have an entry on "heresy" with links to other articles, but the NDT article is more complete, IMO.
