I just came across this set.  I found a reference to the Exodus volume in something I was studying.  The set looks interesting - the authors look worth reading:

One of the problems with getting this set is as you can see there are at least three different publishers involved in this series. Now if the entire series has been handed off each time there might not be a big issue, but if each publisher retained rights, oh my it could be a real nightmare convincing them all.

Yes

Lots of good authors in this set:

  • David J. Clines
  • Roger N. Whybray
  • Iain W. Provan
  • F. F. Bruce
  • I. Howard Marshall
  • George R. Beasley-Murray

And probably others I'm not recognizing off the bat.

Two of the volumes in this set are ranked in the top 10 on BestCommentaries, and several more are in the next 10.

I definitely would be interested in this series too. I have run across this series in footnotes as well in my studies, which has, of course, piqued my interest.

I've added a suggestion for it on the Feedback site. Go vote for it if you'd like to see this important commentary set from Eerdmans in Logos:

Voted!

Several of them are recommended in the Denver Annotated Bibliographies.

I must be mistaken. I went to the site and tried to sign up, but the only method for signing up that I could find was through "social sign in"...that is, through FB, Twitter, or some other nefarious means. That can't be the only option...can it?? And in addition to "social sign in", which is something internet security specialists recommend NEVER doing, I am also required to agree to FeedBear's privacy policies. Seriously??

I once applied for a job through some third party job site, and when I read the "privacy" policy, it said that they (the third party that I was forced to apply through) literally could do whatever they wanted with the information I "gave" them, which was pretty much EVERYTHING, since I was applying for a job. Needless to say, I didn't apply.

So, assuming I've missed the sensible log-in option, might someone point me to it?

I clicked on the email button and it is asking for email and password. Is that my Logos account info? If it is, why not have the FL icon rather than some generic whatsit?

Even if it is my FL login data, it is pretty obvious that this third party is in the personal data business. Why are people okay with that? If I want to get the company I've done business with for a quarter of a century to hear my voice, why must I give away my personal data to a third party who has inherently questionable motives? SERIOUSLY????

You can use your Logos email and password to log into this if you want (which I do), but you don't have to. Any email address will do. They just need some way to contact you when an item you requested has been marked "in progress" or "done". But it is a different company that manages the feedback forums. Many companies have now outsourced their bug reporting and feedback collecting tasks to third parties that do these sorts of forums. The UserVoice forum was another of these. They've just moved it over to FeedBear now.

Where do you get the idea that FeedBear has questionable motives as to what they do with your email address? Nearly every company that provides a service requires a login email address and password. That is the only info they are collecting from you.

If you're worried that they might do something nefarious with it, you can create a throwaway email address that you use only for this. If it ever starts getting spam, for example, you can simply delete that address. I have not received any spam on my Logos email address, which I've given to FeedBear.

Faithlife have already spread themselves to thin in what they do. I don’t want them coding and maintaining a feedback site when they don’t have time to keep up with doing coding on their core product. Third party is the logical choice for this sort of thing. As Rosie has said you can use a throwaway email address if you want, you don’t have to use social media login to sign into the site.

I do hope you think over these points and consider signing up so your voice can be heard but respect it’s ultimately your choices David & Mark.

I am sure I will eventually take the plunge.  Just too busy to figure it all out right now.  I wish FL sites would be more integrated and seamless.  But I do understand the complexity of it all...

I agree with you on better integration.
