Why is it lying to me?

I am gettng a pop-up telling me the discount is coming to an end on Sept 30. No problem. But it is telling me I haven't upgraded to logos 4 yet when I am running 4.3 SR-3 (4.30.0.1592) (this was copied form my about window). any explanations? Am I missing some upgrade tht I should have?

This unfortunate phrasing was supposed to have been fixed by Logos. You are not missing anything as it's trying to advertise that current upgrade discounts are coming to an end.

I do not appreciate being forced to read and close the same window every time I open Logos, I have paid a fortune for this software and it is worrying that Logos feels able to insert repetitive adverts at the heart of the program experience, they could put it on the homepage but why put it there when it can be even more annoying.

What next a pop up advert every time you open a Bible?

This is not freeware, this is a premium product that has already been paid for. If you must have it let us see it once, not every time the programme is opened.

Hi Mike, you have the option to disable any message you don't want to see using these options at the bottom left of your Home Page. Select "Customize" and simply uncheck each items.

If only, I have unchecked that box but the problem is that the message pops up whenever Logos is opened as a standalone message, it is not on the homepage. You have to actively close the message every time or it just sits there on top of your desktop.

Do you not think that this forcing this same message every time logos is opened is a bit much?

I am not even touching on the matter of it being a big fat fib anyway, which we have been told in the past would not be repeated.

Not to magnify the wrong issue any, but when I first got this program I played a little naive thinking there would be alot of spiritual edification between members considering the blessing of the Word and not to mention this software. But, it seems that "flesh" in it's various forms seems to be the predominating factor. Maybe it has something to do with everyone having a different bible, I am of Paul, I am of Apollos.

A minor misunderstanding - the forums are for software issues; Logos is for spiritual edification.

Patrick, thanks for your feedback. We're sorry some of the targeted messaging that wasn't supposed to reach you did. The data's more complicated than it might seem, and we're working to get it right. We don't like to annoy our customers, so thanks for letting us know when we have.

There are supposed to be two separate messages going out: one to Logos 3 (and earlier) customers notifying them of the window of opportunity to move to Logos 4 while the special upgrade discounts are still available and one to Logos 4 customers (minus Portfolio owners) notifying them of the window of opportunity to move to a higher Logos 4 base package while the special upgrade discounts are still available.

I'll get with the person running this campaign and make sure we're doing our best not to send irrelevant messaging to the wrong people.

You can turn off the alerts from the Program Settings menu.

I agree that this is not very useful behavior (to put it mildly). You should see the message only once (unless it changes). I'll look into this and see what we can do.

And yes, I also just loaded Libronix 3 and did NOT get the warning.

And people wonder why some get frustrated with "computers."

I have discovered that clarity in communication can be a bit tricky at times with Logos because of nomenclature. For example, some advertisements seem to suggest that "Logos 4" can run on the iPhone, which isn't true. With the advent of Vyrso, this confusion can multiply. For example: "Vryso" can refer to 1) a store 2) an app or 3) the quality of a resource.

My post is not intended to be a criticism, but a reminder that clarity requires extra care. What is perfectly clear on the editing table may not be so clear in the inbox or popup.

Phil, I've had Logos 4 Platinum since L4 came out (both engine AND base package), and I still get the message everytime I start up. Whatever Logos is using to detect user status isn't working right:

I don't just THINK I have Logos4. I DO have it! I got it soon after it came out, and wished I hadn't - tho now I would never go back to Logos 3. And I upgraded. And still get both adverts. Is this Logos' way of teaching us to practise more forbearance?

No, it's their way of proving that we need a good logic-checking argument mapper in Logos ... for use by the Logos staff.[:P]

It might also be useful to create a glossary of terms to be an upper-left hand of the page option ... example terms: L4, base package, Vyrso, PB, window, pane, ribbon, command box, Go box, Android app, iPhone/iPad app, Libronix, ... then if we could get Mo, Logos and MVP's on the same page as the glossary[:)]

There is hope.

I started L4 today on both my desktop and laptop and did not get the message. I just restarted without getting the message again (yesterday I did every time).

NOTE: I live about 20 miles from Logos headquarters, so I may be getting the fix before others, as the fix is populated through the various servers throughout the world.
