My church uses the NIV 84 version, and would like to use it for my Logos research, but I just upgraded to Logos 4 this Spring and did not get the NIV 84.
Is there anyway to purchase this?
If not, is there any timeline on the Reverse Interlinear for the NIV 2011? I cannot even do Sympathetic Highlighting in the new NIV!

Thank you, Ted! How did I miss this?
PTL for the forums! Should have done this much sooner!
Jerry - In addition to the link that Ted gave you (Thanks Ted - I couldn't find it!) I thought I would fill in a little more info. First, (just to let you know), the NIV84 was pulled from base packages per Zondervan's request:
Phil Gons:At Zondervan’s request, we’ve replaced the TNIV and NIV (1984) with the new 2011 NIV. The license is included, and the file is just about finished. It will automatically download as soon as it’s ready.
If you purchase the NIV84, you should be aware that the Reverse Interlinear will not be included, (once again, per Z's request). As far as the NIV2011 RI, we have not been given any time table. Sorry!

Now, I have to figure out if $26 is worth no reverse interlinear and not useable on my iPad. If I already have an e-copy of a book can I make that a personal book in Logos? I mean is that legit?
Jerry - Copyright laws vary from country to country, but a good rule of thumb is that if you have to break copy protection measures set in place, it would be illegal.
That should be a problem because I would have no idea how to do that.
Jerry Fourroux: If I already have an e-copy of a book can I make that a personal book in Logos? I mean is that legit?
It depends on the applicable jurisdiction (which may be the place where you live - or else) and in some cases maybe on whether you use this book for private or for business purposes. This is a complex area since copyright laws differ widely and whether something as "fair use" or a right to a "personal copy" or a "backup" is applicable to you. It also depends on the licence arrangement under which you use this other e-copy (and there may be the tricky fact that some clauses of a licence contract or EULA may be invalid for you, your jurisdiction or at all, which may invalidate these clauses, or all of the small print of the contract...). Moreover, in some cases, there are regulations that are interpreted diffently in courts than they read at first sight - and some companies put up very restrictive rules to allow them to go after real copycat businesses, but never intend to sue single users. Others do.
It seems to me that at least if you start sharing the PB or *.docx PB source of a copyrighted book, you are on the wrong side of the line.
On the other hand: creating a PB can be very time consuming, especially if the desired result is the full functionality. You may want to consider this as well in your decision, if $26 is worth it.
Running Logos 9 latest (beta) version on Win 10
Jerry Fourroux: That should be a problem because I would have no idea how to do that.
Jerry - Did you mean to say "that would be no problem" (because you don't know how to do it)? Let me give an example. Many eBooks only allow you to copy a limited amount of text. Once you reach the limit, the copy function will not work. If you use a third party software to circumvent this preventative measure, you have likely broken the law.
BTW, I have written to Zondervan asking them to reconsider their policy with Logos about the NIV84 rev int. I suggest others do the same.

Just bought it! I will write to Zondervan ti ask about the RI.
and yes, I have no idea how to break any code.
Just updated to iOS 5 and realized I can post on the iPad now! Makes my day ;)

But, unless I'm mistaken, you won't be able to read the NIV on the Logos iOS app!
Paul - He's aware.

Very good. I wouldn't want Jerry to be disappointed.
Irony of ironies here is that I paid for the Tecarta NIV app, the Kindle edition of the NIV, a Cambridge NIV for preaching, a Spirit Of the Reformation Study NIV, & now a Logos version all in the last four years.
Zondervan should love me!
Jerry - With all of your purchases, it looks like you helped them to purchase Thomas Nelson.
Jerry Fourroux:Zondervan should love me!
Their love is conditional upon you continuing to purchase
Bought the NIV84 on Logos yesterday and today it is on my Logos app!
Well, then it was definitely a good purchase!
It was all you Jerry!

Interesting. I had the NIV (84, of course) before the 2011 version was released, and of course had the reverse IL feature. Has Logos now disabled this RIL feature in my version, or if we had it pre-2011, will we always have it?
I won't lose a lot of sleep over it; I've converted almost completely to the ESV, but I'm not sure I would love it if things I'd purchased were being disabled.
My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.
Faithlife Corp. owes the MVPs free resources for life.
