If and when I pass away and my estate gets sold, would any personal books I created be lost, since there isn't a licence for them?   Any thoughts on this?

Just save the word docs  you create to a disk every once and a while and pass that long to them. Then they can re-create them as PBs

Yes, I have begun doing that.  It seems either that or an external hard drive would be the best way to deal with that situation.

On a slightly related note, I understand that more and more people are mentioning their various passwords in their Last Wills and Testaments so loved ones can access all their data that would otherwise be locked away!
