Question: Using the Logos Bible Software Platinum, loaded with “Calvin Five Hundred” in my library, how can I do a time efficient search that would enable me to summarize Calvin’s theological positions on the loci below (in one to two pages each)? Help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Richard

Richard - I see that you have asked this question before. Unfortunately, Logos will not summarize or write a paper for you. You will have to do the reading yourself. If you need more help, you should review the answers you were given previously. If you don't understand their answers, ask a follow up question!

Have you considered making a 'Calvin' collection and doing various searches on that? If you are wanting to make your own conclusions based on primary resources, that's where I'd start. If you want other's summaries, you'd have to expand the collection a bit (maybe).

Here's the filter I used for my 'Calvinism' collection. I have Calvin 500, and this gave me 78 resources.

I also use this filter for Reformed Systematic Theology, which may also help your search (esp. if you don't mind secondary sources).

Sometimes you don't need all the power of Logos to answer a question. If you're going to summarize Calvin's theological position on any subject, you must start by reading his Institutes. There's a few translations of the Institutes with Calvin 500. Pick one, and if you can't find your topic in the contents, then search that single resource for it:

Theological Method is covered under "Method and Arrangement"
The Trinity is covered Book 1, Chapter 13
God as Creator is covered throughout Book 1, particularly in chapters 1, 5 and 14
...and so on.

There's no substitute for primary sources!
