Is anyone having a problem with the exported document text being blurred?
I've never noticed a problem with the Export to XPS feature. What are you trying to export? Could you upload an example document (you may need to zip it to attach it to a forum post).
Here it is in a zip file.3755.Text_Comparison.zip
Wow Steve, that's really blurry.
I just tested xps exporting on my computer and it looks fine...
I believe this feature uses the built in xps printer that comes on most Windows boxes. I went looking in the virtual printer's settings but didn't see any resolution settings.
If you print to the xps printer from another program is it blurry?
My only suggestion would by to try a repair on .NET, but that seems rather extreme. If no one else pipes up give tech support a call, perhaps they've seen this before.
Yes, I am. Almost as bad as yours. If I print to the XPS Document writer, I get the same problem (though PDFs work fine). I wonder if it's a font embedding problem with XPS?
NO, maybe its a Windows 7 issue, this is what I get on vista, is clear for me
Nope, at leaston my 32 Bit machine, Logos under Win 7 provides the Text Comparison crystal clear - both saved as XPS or printed to the Microsoft XPS Document Writer.
Font = Default Font, 100% size, I might add from the program settings.
This started around August. I was using this feature and it was fine back in the earlier part of the summer. It is not a big deal. Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem.

In anwer to your question: Can I preant elsewhere with XPS. Yest, and it comes out fine. So this narrows it down to the software it would seem to me.

Steve: just to clarify: do you print to XPS (using the Microsoft XPS Document Writer) or do you export to XPS? What font and font scaling you use?
Since you can use XPS elsewhere, there should be lots of workarounds possible (e.g. printing to PDF or exporting to Word and then printing to XPS).

I was exporting but I tried printing with the XPS and it was still blurred. I printed outside Logos 4 and the print was fine.
Like Steve I have this problem, and it only seems to occur in Logos. I'm using 4.5 beta on Windows 7 64-bit.
Could someone for whom this does work upload an XPS of:
(I'm interested in (a) whether fonts are embedded or bitmaps created, and (b) the resolution of any bitmaps.)
Could someone for whom this does work upload an XPS of: A text comparison Their program settings
4857.Text_Comparison.zip
i am running on Vista 32bit windows.
In the zip: TC from L4 (in XPS), word 2010 printout (in XPS), image of my L4 program settings
Below is an image of the 2 xps files in IE side by side (click on image to have browser zoom in)
Thanks, Steve, that's helpful. That confirms that even your XPS document is bitmapping its fonts (it shouldn't really). The difference between your OK XPS document and our 'blurry' XPS document in only the resolution therefore.
I'll report it as a bug in the beta forum. In the meantime, the file is created properly if "Print as exported" is selected, with only minimal formatting loss.
OK, here's the bug report: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/41301.aspx- that should get picked up by Logos staff in the next few days. In the meantime we'll have to use the "Print as exported" workaround, or print to PDF then to the XPS Document Writer from Adobe Reader.
Thanks to all who have help on this..
