Personal Books & Resource Links

Has anyone had any luck using Resources links in Personal Book. I followed the instructional video but was not successful.
The the instructional video is found here http://www.mpseminars.com/videos# and specifically the video "Link to a Logos Resource in a Personal Book".

Yes, I - and many others - have got this working.
Does the article at http://wiki.logos.com/Personal_Books and specifically http://wiki.logos.com/Personal_Books#Resource_links help at all?
What specific problems are you experiencing?

They work in the PC (Logos4 ver 4.3Sr3). There are some limitations, Logos has not yet gotten the Offset within pages working yet. So your link will take to the right page but maybe not the exact location within that page.
i don't know how Morris instructed you but i use the URL from the PB's menu to get the link. Then use the link within my docx file using the appropriate hyperlink syntax.
Below is a link into a PB that i have. i copied it from my docx file. It works when i build the docx file into a PB.
Link to another PB [[Library Opening the Lib Window >>

Thanks for the input guys. I was wondering what correct syntax for a link to Matthew Henry's Commentary, lets use John 3:16 and I want to reference this commentary in a personal book.
Sincerely,
Tom

Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible: Complete and Unabridged in One Volume does not have a specific verse comment for John 3:16, but does have a milestone John 3:1-21 so Logos 4 URL is:
logosres:mhenry;ref=Bible.Jn3.1-21
which could have a label "Matthew Henry comments" in Personal Book with URL link:
[[Matthew Henry comments >> logosres:mhenry;ref=Bible.Jn3.1-21]]

Keep Smiling 4 Jesus,
Thank you for your comments. Tried using both syntax methods and URL did appear in my PB, but unfortunately both showed up un the PB exaltly how I they were typed in. Also, how did you know to use "logosres:mhenry" (mhenry) and how will I know what resources reference to use in the future with some of my other resources/
Sincerely,
Tom Baldwin

I think I figured out my question: by attaching the URL logosres:mhenry;ref=Bible.Jn.3.1-21 to word or location with the Word .docx file.
I still would like to know what is supposed to happpen when I put [[Mattthew Henry comments >> logosres:mhenry;ref=Bible.Jn.3.1-21]] into my source document.

Personal Book should build without any errors. If hover mouse over "Matthew Henry comments", then a pop-up should appear:
Also can click "Matthew Henry comments" to open Logos resource.

Word 2010 on PC allows Logos URL to be used in Hyperlink editing so can select text, then insert hyperlink.

Hi Tom,
i've added a note to the end of your docx file describes how to do this.
EDIT: i changed the file above with a note in red around your version of this syntax.

Steve Clark,
This seems to work altthough my L4 seems to be a bit flaky handling these type of references..
Thanks,
Tom

Please elaborate about "bit flaky" for handling references.
Observation: some commentaries are more versified than others. For example, the United Bible Society (UBS) Handbooks discuss what is important to translate in every verse, often comparing and contrasting different English versions along with including cross cultural tips. UBS Handboks are included in Scholar's Gold and above.

Some of this may be due to mixed formatting or styles on the whole field of the the link field. You will need the whole field (from [[ to ]]) set to the same style and format. If there are any characters which have extra formatting, L4 tends to ignore the whole field.
