Logos 4 seems to spend a lot of time syncing.  Is there a way to see a progress bar?

Not to my knowledge. The sync framework has been redesigned for 4.5 which will come out in the coming month(s) I believe it will cut down on sync time.

It wouldn't help due to the essentially random nature of sync activity. If you want to know what is happening then start L4 with CTRL key held down and inspect the logos4.log in \Documents\Logos Log Files.  Just look for the word "Sync".

It may speed sync time but activity will increase because sync milestones are established periodically, and you might see a "Synchronization in Progress" banner when Logos starts.

I'm having the same problem on my laptop, though my desktop works at home, but not at work, now I'm syncing continuously and there is an error log that I somehow can't put in here, what is going on?

Wiki has Using the Forums => Adding a picture to a Post has steps for adding a picture, which can also be used for adding files.

Please consider editing reply to replace contents of error log file with uploaded log file; wiki has Using the Forums => Editing or deleting posts

By the way, the errors posted have unable to load an image icon along with older Logos 4.3 SR-6 version.

Wonder about downloading and installing Logos 4.3 SR-8 ? wiki Getting Started with Logos => Installation + Indexing has link to => Logos 4 PC Installer

But before I just count the day lose, I do have 4.3 SR-8; I was just trying to get help, maybe I will have to uninstall and do all over again after a year with no problems on laptop.

Before uninstalling, suggest enabling diagnostic logging; wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

If error repeats, would like to look at diagnostic logs, especially Logos4.log and Logos4Indexer.log files.

Diagnostic logs have more information than error report.

If choose to uninstall; wiki has => Quick Installation onto multiple computers

I was thinking more along the lines, that if Logos is almost done syncing, then I'll wait to shut it down, (this is on a laptop), otherwise I'll close the program.

The other is general cursorily -- what is being synced?

License data, Resource metadata from Logos, user resource tags/ratings, Settings changes, changed tab information (resource, position, toolbars used, preferences), user document changes.

That is a good idea but the time taken is unpredictable because there is no schedule of activity  i.e. it could take 1s to 10s or more.

Most definitely on the "or more".  Mine seems to be syncing most of the time, hours, not seconds.

Sync activity appears normal. Were the Sync arrows starting and stopping or moving all the time?

Let it run longer, do what you do and upload a log if Sync activity appears prolonged.

The new update (4.3 SR-8) seems to have resolved the almost constant syncing.
