I've been getting the classic commentaries on community pricing, but $90 seems a little much. I'd really like to see it around $50, but his is going to take a lot more bids. It is very close to crossing the 100% and probably will close next Friday.

Perhaps people are finally getting how this bidding thing works. If they were, we wouldn't have this problem!

Indeed! We certainly wouldn't have people bidding $90 for this resource [:(]
Ahh but look we got it down $20 and the day isn't done yet. [<:o)]
I just (temporarily) upped my bid from $40 to $60 and saw a visible jump (perhaps 2%) in the bump at $60. If 1 person can make that much difference, that tells me that this set really doesn't require all that many more new bidders at $40 (or raised from lower than $40) to get it over the top there.
EDIT: Here's the math (I think): if 1 person can push the $60 bump up by 2% that means it takes 50 people at $60 to get to 100% so the thing costs about $3000 to produce. So it would take 75 people at $40 to get to 100%. It's currently at about 84% at $40, so we need 16% of 75 more, which is 12 more bidders at $40 (not from among the ones who are currently bidding higher, as those are already included in the bump at $40 -- but among those who have currently bid lower).
I think the only way to get new bidders for $40 is to bring the price down to $60 which will bring a few more bidders, then to $50 etc. The Revelation set has shown that some people simply won't put in a lower bid if they don't think it has a chance of success.

I've temporarily upped to $60, following your example, tho no way am I prepared to pay $60....
It would be great if we could add a "Review" that could point back here, so we can advise bidders how they can get most of these CPs for 30 or so, if they work as a group.
Logos should not mind too much, if the goal is to get a given set produced in Logos formats.
If EVERYONE who has bid $40 would move to $50 it would break through the 100% line at $50 [:)]. If that were to happen TODAY, that might just be enough for more bidders to get interested enough that we could all get it for $40 [:D].
From the shape of the curve, if EVERYBODY who wanted it bid at $40 it would almost get through there; but we have quite a number of hold outs still back at $30 (otherwise it would be a straight line all the way to $40 and there is still quite a dip in the gradient after $30 [:(].
I'm on board, too.
I've raised my bid too ... I've no idea what people were doing bidding $90 for it! Hopefully it'll yet drop to $40. I wonder if that'd make one of the biggest price drops there would have been on CP?
I do think that $60 is too much - even though that is my current bid. I would like to see $40, but would probably still keep it at $50.
Those who have bid $40 or $50 have nothing to lose by temporarily bidding at $70 or $80 to try to get this down to a level they would be willing (and the rest of us would prefer) to pay. You have until next Friday to lower the bid again.
No, Dean, you are wrong! You never gather community support to raise the price - you stir the troops to lower it - this way everyone wins.
Why would you lower your bid? It is like letting air out of a balloon, it needs all the air to stay in it, in order to lower the price further. If you remove overall dollars more people need to bid.
I hope you got your answer! You lower your bid AND create awareness in order to bring the price down for everybody. If a ton of people drop their bids from 90 to 40, it gives more time for $40 to win, you create momentum for that price point and you wont WAY OVERPAY for a resource.
I think $30 is doable!!!
No, I wasn't asking them to raise the price, but to bid closer to the peak rather than far from it, where the bid will be stagnant and do nothing to bring the peak down. People willing to bid close to the peak are the ones who brought this product all the way down to $40. Had they stayed at $40, it would never have passed $90 or $80.

No, when you drop from 90 to 40, it does NOTHING to the 40 peak. You drop to 80 which helps bring the 90 peak down. Remember - this one had already crossed the line, and so we aren't in a position to create more time for anything.
We did it! It's down to $40. Do I hear $30? We still have four days.
$40 is still a little fragile and the shape of the line suggested quite a few hold outs at $20 and $30, but not enough bidders at $20 and below to get it to $30 just by raising bids. The only way to go lower we can get it lower is to attract a LOT of new bidders. Has happened before. We have the time, it is possible, but by no means certain: so those bidding below $40 need to be really sure they are not going to want this going forward, as it will likely then costs an impractical $200 as do the others that are already published. At little more than $2 a volume, you do not need to get much value out of all of them to make it worth the current price..... For those who think older commentaries are of little value, yes, indeed, perceptions and understanding may have changed based on new developments, understandings and recent archaeology etc, however, there are still a lot of people out there whose current thinking is more likely aligned to the teachings in these older commentaries. You need to know what these commentaries say, even if they are NOT the latest and greatest as you need to know where many people are starting from if you want to move them effectively.... In a few cases you might even find these older Christians were closer to the truth than those more contemporary.... $2 for older commentaries compared to $30 for many more recent ones,.... I think this is a good deal to get a broader perspective on what various readers might think the text is saying.... [:)]
