Must Logos Have an Update every 30 minutes?

Its getting *very* frustrating that virtually every time I start up Logos, theres yet another lovely update which always requires a restart and the requisite re-indexing.
I love the resources that Logos has in their software, but I do not like the fact that I have to endure the incessant updating/installing/restarting/re-indexing that accompanies virtually every time I want to use Logos.

When it finishes updating, do you get a listing of what has been changed? Is it the same each time?

Brad,
You'll be helped by deciding either to manually update Logos 4 or by scheduling updates at a time of day that is more convenient for you. Check under Tools>Program Settings for those options.
In addition you can always put off indexing for four hours at a time by clicking on the blue Logos icon in the system tray and selecting that option when Logos is indexing.
I do not seem to be getting the frequency of updates you are, and find them manageable, but the tools are there to help make it more manageable for you.

George pointed out you may be having a problem causing this to happen.
It would help us get that sorted out if you enabled diagnostic logging and uploaded the logs that it generates when you run Logos the next time and seem to have this happen yet again. See http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging for how to enable permanent diagnostic logging and what to do with the files generated.

Sorry about the frequent updates. We've been in a phase of frequent, important changes as we work to migrate our many document types to "Sync v2" and update our mobile application. These document type changes require that all the client apps (desktop and mobile) be on the same version, and the features we're enabling on mobile (notes, highlighting, reading-plan sync, etc.) have been in such high demand that we didn't want to wait a few months to release them all at once.
4.5b is coming soon, with some other important changes related to the overall 'ecosystem', but once it is released you should notice a slow-down in updates for a while.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
-- Bob

As Mark suggested I manage my update downloads and once in a while decline to download something at the time and wait for a better time. That said, keep the updates coming Bob; I like the progress I am seeing.[Y]
