Just saw it announced on Twitter: http://www.logos.com/product/17902/timothy-keller-sermon-archive

Price seems about right considering they did the same thing for Driscoll (much fewer sermons) and he goes for $129 http://www.logos.com/product/4925/mark-driscoll-sermon-archive

Just trying to decide if I really want the sermon transcripts or not...

But John Piper's collection is way cheaper :-)

Just ordered this. Thanks for the heads up.

Logos, please do it for Earl Palmer's sermons too! (Audio versions are available at http://www.earlpalmer.org/resources.html)

I am really looking forward to this resource. Just preordered it now!

The reason (I believe) is that Piper's sermons were already transcribed. All that was needed was to convert them into Logos and Tag them.

For Keller, just like for Driscoll, the price is to cover the actual transcription of the sermons. Got to imagine that it is going to take a LONG time to transcribe 1000+ sermons!

I don't know that they need to necessarily transcribe so much as translate. He does "manuscripts," but not in the traditional sense. Here's a sample from one of his sermons:

And who knows, maybe he has full-blown manuscripts that he pares down into this format for the pulpit.

EDIT: It sounds like from his video that some transcription work will need to be done. It would be interesting to know how his style has changed over the years.

I just wonder how long it willl take.  I don't really like paying for something that I will recieve at an ambigious future date.  Especially considering the amount of times Logos pushes release dates back.

Did you read that it was going to be published in five segments?

You don't pay for it until it ships, as with all pre-pubs. You can pull out if you think it's taking too long and would prefer to spend your money elsewhere.

I am really excited about these sermons being made for Logos, but the collection doesn't indicate that it is available on mobile devices or the web app.

I would assume that it would be available, but it is curious that there is no icon stating such:

I'm much more interested in the sermons. For instance, my wife and I found the sermons that became "The Reason for God" to be significantly better than the book itself.

I am also interested to see in this collection how Tim Keller embodied the "Christ in All Scripture" principle he learned from Edmund Clowney, his preaching mentor.

If you can't wait, listen to the DMin class Keller taught with Clowney on the subject for free! Preaching Christ to Postmoderns Lectures 4 and 9 contain most of the "nuts and bolts."

Thanks!

I have those audios, but haven't finished listening them - stopped somewhere in the first 2 or 3 lectures.

Will re-listen, then.

But, unlike most prepbs you'll be paying when the first segment ships. You'll then be waiting an undefined amount of time for the other 4 to roll out.

While annoying, I do like the idea of (in theory) getting pieces as they roll out as opposed to waiting for the whole project to be released (which may take a while).

Also, looking at the progress bar I'm wondering how long it will take to get to production. Guessing the pre-pub price is lower than they would have wanted to go based on the $1200 non-prepub price. If that's the case, they'll need more orders than usual to get to production level.

Will be interesting to watch how this one plays out.

I am a big fan of Keller's and am definitely in on this.  However, I agree that it is annoying that you only get an as yet undetermined amount of sermons but get charged for the full price.

If there are too few available initially, there will likely be some protest... at least from me.

The fairest thing to do would be to charge pro rata as the transcripts are released.
