BUG? Inconsistency when sharing to Facebook

When selecting a passage, as per the screenshot below, I am able to share to various social networking sites (including Faithlife).

When sharing to Faithlife, the highlighted section of the book is quoted and a link to the resources (via Biblia) is provided as per below. This is really impressive.

When sharing to Facebook, however, only the link to Biblia is provided (i.e. no text),

I was wondering if this was a bug, by design or a limitation with Facebook? I note that when I share articles/blogs from other websites a truncated extract of said article is typically reproduced in Facebook with a link to the source website.

It would be good to have full parity when sharing to FB.

Hi Tonya,

I can confirm that I am still experiencing the same behaviour.

The screenshots below show the process and outcome of trying to share to Facebook from Matt Chandler's The Explicit Gospel (recently available via Vyrso).

I have tried with other resources (which are available on mobile, not sure whether this makes a difference) to the same effect.

I am, however, able to consistently post to Faithlife (as per screenshot below),

Let me clarify: When you select text and "share" to faithlife, the selected text is pasted into the post, along with a link. [It is interesting that a (broken) link is also created for personal books].

When you select text to share to Facebook, only a link is created. This is true of all resources that I tried (PB's, Logos, Vyrso) with the exception of Bible's (ESV, NIV11), although the text that is pasted isn't the selection, but the entire verse or passage (you can't choose to share part of a verse).

Thanks, Alabama. It is sort of reassuring that I am not alone [:S].

I presume, from Tonya's comment above, that this is not usual behaviour. Moreover, Tonya appears to suggest that L4 is sharing text to Facebook, at her end, at least.

Strange.

The Faithlife integration is very welcome and suggests that integration with other social networking sites could be very useful indeed.

When I tested this previously it was with a Bible. Re-testing using a monograph I am seeing the same behavior (link only, no text.) I'll report the issue to Development. Thanks gents!

Could this copying of text when sharing be added to the FSB app. This would save a step.

According to Development, this issue is due to what Facebook allows us to do. It is possible that we may be able to improve this behavior in the future by rendering the content from Biblia or if Facebook changes what is possible.

Thanks for the feedback, Tonya. The workaround (copy and paste) is not massively inconvenient. I appreciate you looking into this.
