A little disappointed

Just venting a little bit:

I recently deleted some of my community pricing prepubs that I got really cheap because I realized I wasn't really going to use them.  During the process, I accidentally deleted my order for Commentary on Psalms by Medieval Writers, I called Logos to get help reinstating my $9 bid price but I feel I just got the run around from them.  I was told to talk to customer support, customer support told me to call sales and sales sent me back to customer support because they could only offer me the current prepub price of almost $60 dollars.  Is this for real? Come on, I accidentally deleted it and now basically what I hear is "tough luck" and I have to pay a higher price if I want it?

Anyway, maybe they didn't understand my request, but I'm just a little disappointed because I was really looking forward to having that and the Revelation set at the price I bid for (by the way, Revelation I still have it, but Psalms no more).

Well, maybe you're the first person who ever called up Logos and said you made a mistake. That would explain their complete surprise.

Or, maybe it's pretty common for people to delete a CP-priced order, and within minutes to call and try to trick them into undeleting it. That could be it.

Or (most likely) they're not quite sure what to do, procedure-wise.

Yes, an existing loyal customer is an interesting phenomina with businesses. What to do, what to do?

What to do, what to do?

Perhaps email sales with a cc to Bob?

I just checked my email: any and all cp-to-prepub that I have gotten I have always gotten an email stating such and with the ‘award winning cp price’ with a number – so maybe check to see if you still have those/this.

I did the same thing recently. I deleted a few of my pre-pubs and somehow accidentally deleted one I didn't mean to. Just my luck that it happened to be a community priced one.

I don't know whether this relates to community pricing, but I have just cancelled a prepublication and received an email confirming the cancellation and providing a link to reinstate the order. I have not noticed this before. I am not able to confirm whether this innovation works with community pricing, but it is welcome nonetheless.

I appreciate it doesn't directly address the concern of the OP, but is perhaps further evidence that Logos is listening.

Sorry for the trouble; I'm having our team look into it. Community Pricing is designed for you to manage, and I'm not sure we even have the user interface on our system to place bids / restore bids on your behalf -- that may be why the team wasn't able to help you. But I'm looking into it...

I have brain damage from some strokes and did the same thing because I was deleting things I can no longer afford, I have big Dr. bills now.  They are trying to help me out!  Do not give up any one can make an honest mistake.

Well, thank you, Brother! I called CS again earlier today and explained to them what was happening and this time they were able to help.  They are still looking into it, but most likely I will still get the price I bid for one way or another.  A word of warning was, "Next time, please, becareful when you're deleting titles from your prepub orders, especially if they are titles that come from CP" Smile Warning heeded, next time I'll be more careful and not delete orders; especially when I'm getting ready to go out with my wife.

Anyway, thank you again!

Blessings,

DAL

Ps. A suggestion might be to have the system say (if you delete something from CP that's already in prepub): "You have 24hrs. to reinstate your prepub at your CP price, after that you will have to pay the current prepub price..." or something along those lines.  That way it'll give others some time to think about it, and others (like myself) a chance to recover something when we delete it by accident.  I don't know, perhaps 1 hour instead of 24, but at least we'll catch it and know we have a chance to recover/reinstate our prepub at the price we bid for.

Oh, someone else stated that they received an email asking if they wanted to "reinstate" their prepub; I got the same email, but it wasn't giving me the bid price, but the current prepub price.  Anyway, thanks!

How many companies as large as Logos would have a President who would even care, much less be "looking into it"?  You have to admit this is an amazing company.

Yes indeed! You are right about that.  And...problem has been fixed and lesson learned! I'll be more careful next time.  Phew!!! I almost thought I was going to miss out on this one.  The Psalms are great and any resource that can help me study it better is more than welcomed into my library!

Blessings!
