Searching for a Greek word in BDAG
I just bought BDAG. It has indexed; I restarted my computer.
However, when I type anything in the search bar and hit enter, nothing happens; the word disappears.
Do I need to type the word in Greek font? ( if so, how do I do that?)
Are all logos searches for Greek words begun with the transliterated version of the word?
I also tried to copy and paste the word from my NA27 and still the word disappeared when I hit enter?
Then, I opened up my information window on the right, hoping that as I hovered over a word in my NA27, that the BDAG link would be there and I could click it and find the word in BDAG that way. How do you make BDAG one of the blue links that comes up in your informations window?

Hi Daniel, BDAG works from the lemma not the manuscript form of the Greek word. So if you haven't already, you need to prioritize it in your library somewhere after your preferred Bible. That way when you right click on a word in a reverse interlinear Bible or NA27, then choose lemma on the right side of the popup and on the lower left side of the popup BDAG will be there. Click on it and BDAG will open to that word. That is the easiest way to access a word in BDAG. You can also scroll down the table of contents manually. When you right click on a word in a reverse interlinear Bible or NA27 you can also click on lemma and then click on Bible Word Study and that tool will open and have a link to that word in it.

Once you have prioritized BDAG in your library it will show up as a link in the information tool if you have your settings set correctly. Just make sure lemma is chosen and "get definition from highest prioritized dictionary". The blue link should show up at the bottom of the definition. I prefer my information tool to work when I click on a word in my Bible rather that hover.

In order to search for a Greek word in BDAG by using the search bar you MUST type the Greek lemma IN GREEK. You can avoid doing that if you have a Greek New Testament and can locate an instance of its appearance which you can then click on to bring up BDAG. I understand that, like Windows, the MAC does have the ability to change fonts so you can type in Greek (you are in the MAC section so I'm assuming you have a MAC). Since I don't use a MAC, you will need to do a little research to learn how this is done or have some helpful member of the forum explain the process to you.

Welcome [:)]
Using transliteration is an option for search and guides to show a drop down list of lemma(s):
Screenshot shows Greek transliteration entry for search plus my highest prioritized Greek Lexicon, which includes cognate words.

In NA27, one option is right click on a word, click lemma, then click BDAG (A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament ...)

Thank you for your responses; each method of utilizing BDAG was successful for me.
