In the past, Logos has said 'no' to Windows Phone because you couldn't write to it using C. With today's announcement ( http://www.zdnet.com/blog/microsoft/microsofts-windows-phone-8-finally-gets-a-real-windows-core/12975?tag=mantle_skin;content ), will that be re-examined?
You can already use biblia so there is a way albeit online, however Windows 8 Mobile (Metro) and Windows 8 normal are different products, from what I have read, I would not hold my breath, but as normal will likely be proved wrong

Yes, we will be re-examining the question of porting Logos to Windows Phone 8.
It will probably take some time (and further information about the WP8 APIs) to come to a decision, particularly if our answer is dependent on market penetration. (For example, how many WP7 users are going to replace their phone immediately when WP8 comes out?)
If we do decide to create a WP8 app, it will take time to spin up a development team to learn the platform and port the app.
So... maybe, but don't expect an announcement or a shipping product soon.

As has been their custom, Microsoft again obsoletes its existing customers' investment; Win 7 phones have no upgrade path to Windows 8. Even brand new Win7.5 phones just released! (They did toss a crumb of a 7.8 upgrade, but that's NOT Windows 8).
Hardware, architecture, etc. have been redesigned and are totally incompatible. They do this every time! I wonder how Android and iOS have been able to build increasingly better phones over the years yet obsolete older phones at a much slower pace (tongue planted firmly in cheek).
If Logos supports Windows 8 be prepared to invest in a rewrite to Windows 9, as this plan of obsolescence has been happening for 15 years at least, in my experience. (It's the reason I will never again buy a Windows phone; love them on the desktop, despise them on the phone).
IMHO - unless Microsoft can show it can grab more than single digit market share with it's phone, Logos please don't divert more resources into yet another venture. Let's get the projects on the table now finished!

Just because the user will not be able to use 'old' apps does not imply that the developers of the apps will have to rewrite the apps. They might have to recompile the app and make some tweaks to it. Then again, this is common when an OS/development package upgraded. I know that I had to rewrite part of a website when I went from php3 to php4.

Totally Agree!!
If I remember right, a few days back a 2 year old iPad was orphaned (could EASILY be wrong on that). But I had the various iterations of Windows Mobile for many, many years. Up to 6.1, I still used my earliest software that I really liked. It was great. 6.5 was the beginning of the complete disasters. When my contract went out on my 6.5, it went in the trash and I got my old 6.1 out of the closet. Nice little operation; no headaches. Just works.
I really think the days of multi-upgrade stability are being dumped (actually by consumers) in favor of next-best-thing. The MS's of the world get no points for the past, and get few points for innovation. 'Impress me or you're out of here'.
But our VW Eurovan Camper is almost 12 years old and people want to buy it. They think it's new! Demonstrates the principle of 'next-best-thing'.

Yay! Please, please, please give us a Logos on WIn PHone 8 and Metro--can't wait!!!
Please get Logos on to windows Phone 8. I would love to see it on there. I have invested quite a bit in Logos and would be so grateful if I could see this app running on Windows Phone 8!
Please Logos, work your magic!
@Dominick Sela: this very "obsoleting" you talk about is what makes Logos re-examine supporting WP users. Because of that, I'm pumped about it. Granted, I'll be on contract for a little while, so I'll only be on the new code base when I can upgrade again, but it's still good to know (besides, it'll be a while before we get Logos on WP8 even if they start soon, as Bradley Grainger pointed out).
@DominicM: yes, I'm using biblia, but seeing some of the true Logos functionality ported would sure be great. There's a lot of growth potential in biblia.com compared to true Logos - and I'm not talking about gigabytes of indexes on my phone to do morphology searches, but simpler stuff like being able to look up Low-Nida on a word, or have an outline for a book.
Until then, it'll hopefully be Surface Pro for me...
I appreciate looking into it... WP8 should provide a cross platform compatible framework between tablets, phones and desktop.... I for one would love to see Logos on the Windows Phone 8 platform because I'm out and about all day with my phone... thank you again for considering it... I just ordered the Nokia Lumia 920 WP8 and should be here in just a few days...
I like biblia and use it daily. That being said, it does not allow me to view all my books. I was trying to read a Warren Wiersbe commentary, but couldn't because it was not available via biblia. As much as I like biblia it is not very nimble to switch around quickly at resources. I hope Logos improves biblia and/or ports Logos to the Window Phone 8 platform. Go Logos! :)
John – Welcome to the forums!
Just to clarify: A Logos app for Windows Phone 8 would be a mobile app, and subject to the same licensing agreements as the other mobile apps. The availability of resources on the mobile app would be similar to that of Biblia.com.

Yes I agree...I just sold my Samsung Note for a WP8 Lumia 920...WP8 has come a LONG way...it is great! I predict they will sell many new WP8 devices, especially with Windows 8 now on most new PCs.
LOGOS TEAM...Please develop a port...I NEED my phone Logos back
With my great Nokia Lumia 920 in hand, I'm happily selling my iPhone. Windows Phone and Surface Pro will be a great combo for mobile Logos. Please focus on the Windows Phones, because it will be very useful for ministry to have Logos across Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and Phone.

Yes, I agree. I sold my iPhone 4 and now I have Nokia 820 ...and waiting for Logos WP8 version

I've been a decade-long customer of both Logos (on the PC) and Laridian (on the mobile). I've been following Logos' progressing in developing for the WP platform, and have now lost my support. This week, Laridian released their WP8 app, and it's all I need.
I found and installed the Logos Bible app for my Surface and my Desktop Windows 8 PC (and of course I still have the full software installed too), but I can't seem to find it on my Nokia Lumnia phone...do you not have an app for the Windows 8 phone yet??
PLEASE get on this!! I have been a windows user my whole life; can't STAND mac/apple products (huge markup and too much hype for a product that isn't any better). If the app is out, why am I not finding it when I do a search for "Logos" or "Bible" on my phone?
Thanks!!

No, we do not.
