Tracking - Update Request
It's great to see that Logos have just added planned shipping dates to so many more titles, including many in the Classic Commentaries series and many of the resources added about a year ago.
However, there are just a few resources that stand out as having been around for more than a year. Please could we have a progress update on the following titles:
A Manual of Palestinian Aramaic Texts
The Coptic Versions of the Minor Prophets
The 26 Baker Academic titles added in February 2010
Luke 6-10: MacArthur New Testament Commentary
The two Harper One titles (The Dead Sea Scrolls: A New Translation, Dead Sea Scrolls Bible)
The three HarperSanFrancisco titles (The Meaning of the Dead Sea Scrolls, The Rebirth of Orthodoxy, What Have They Done with Jesus?)
and Day by Day Collection (13 vols.)
This would be greatly appreciated, Logos. Thanks.

It would still be good to have an update on these resources. They seem to have stalled, so it would be good if Logos could give us any reasoning or details on when they might be published. Thanks.

Logos may not have responded on the forum yet, but there has been a response of sorts. The top two titles on the list, dating back to 2006, are now set to ship on 13 August. That's good news, Logos. [:D]
I suspect that the latest Baker Collections on PrePub will affect the 26 Baker Academic titles added in February 2010, some of which have been included in the new collections. It would be good to hear from Logos what the plan is regarding these, now that the collections have been announced.
It would also be great to hear regarding the last few titles as well:

Bob has just written that contract issues have been resolved regarding the Harper One titles and that they'll be shipping soon (http://community.logos.com/forums/t/52467.aspx?PageIndex=3). Hopefully this also applies to the HarperSanFrancisco titles.
That doesn't leave many more to update us on, Logos. What about the others? As can be seen from the tracking spreadsheet (http://community.logos.com/forums/p/51506/387724.aspx#387724), these are the only resources left that have been in pre-pub for more than 13 months without a reason being given for what is holding them up.

The resources due to ship in September have just been announced, and they include Day by Day Collection (13 vols.) - March 2011. [:D] Sadly, it doesn't include the Harper titles yet, so let's hope they'll be ready in October.

Yes. I really hope that Logos will stop doing this to us. This also applies to New Interpreter's Bible and New Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible. The date I gave was the last time "Synopsis..." moved to Under Development.

This also applies to "Handbook on the Prophets", which is on the list, though it has been in my library for a while, having shipped as part of a collection. It's still on the list because it's still listed on the pre-pub page as a standalone resource.

I don't think any of these were listed as pre-pubs, and my list is only listing pre-pubs. I could have made that clearer, but I don't track resources that go straight into production. Hope that's clear.

Logos has just published dozens of new shipping dates. The bad news is that only 6 of the 32 delayed resources listed above are on the list, despite resources posted as recently as 17 December 2012 being on there. It would at least be good to have updates on the 16 resources that have been on PrePub for over a year, Logos.

Logos is still clearly making progress on reducing the time it takes to release pre-pubs, after they go "Under Development". [:)]
This is great news. Halfway through February, we can already see shipping dates for most of the resources added each month last year. For example, for pre-pub resources added in December, 14 have a shipping date and 1 has already shipped, so there are only 6 other resources Under Development. This is a fantastic improvement in turnaround time. [:D]
However, there are a few resources that still seem somehow stuck. A few from the list above have shipped or got shipping dates, but that still leaves 23 resources on the list - see below. It is becoming clearer that some patterns are emerging. Often it appears to be about contractual matters. In particular, three of the books added in December and Under Development but with no Shipping Date are published by Baker, as are 4 of the 23 on the list below and 30 of the 56 other pre-pubs Under Development but with no Shipping Date.
Foreign language works, such as the 8 volume Dictionary of Classical Hebrew will need different skills and some In House resources are being written, translated or produced, rather than simply converted to electronic form. This is understandable, but it would still be good if Logos could, say monthly, update us on the other titles that are seemingly stuck. It's unlikely that they will want to discuss contractual issues on the forum in any detail, but an apology for the delay and assurance that they are working on them would still be good to hear.

I won't do a full update at this point, but it's good to see that a number of the "stuck" Baker resources are now due to ship next week, including items three and five from the list above. [:D]
It would be really good if whatever was holding up the Baker items has been dealt with and the other items can be rolled out as well...

Looks like I spoke too soon.
The following three Baker titles have just had their shipping dates removed:
The Select Works of D. A. Carson (7 vols.) Baker Youth, Family, and Culture Series (4 vols.) Walter C. Kaiser Collection (3 vols.) As far as I'm aware, there's been no communication regarding this, which is one of my gripes with Logos. Most of what they do is very good, but their communication with their customers is not always up to scratch. This is especially important when the dates they charge customers often shifts. Customers must make sure that there is money available on their cards almost continually for all pre-pub items. Usually customers are given a couple of weeks notice by email, but the resources can have the shipping dates moved back or withdrawn without any communication from Logos that it is happening, never mind an apology or (carefully worded) explanation. With fluctuating exchange rates, this can also change the price of the product for those paying in different currencies. Better communication in these circumstances may be another small overhead for Logos, but it seems to me a worthwhile one for the sake of their customers and Logos' customer relations.

The last of the Baker Academic titles added in February 2010 has finally got a shipping date, as have a number of other Baker titles that nearly made it onto the list. [:)]
Logos have added shipping dates to a number of the other resources that went into pre-pub more than six months ago, but were seemingly being left behind. [:)]
However, there are still a number of Baker titles that went Under Development more than six months ago and are seemingly being left behind, most notably the ten collections added on 30 July 2012 that go to make up the Baker Academic Biblical Studies Bundle.
As noted above, there are now shipping dates for nearly all resources that entered pre-pub last year and are Under Development. The following is a list of the 35 resources that entered pre-pub more than six months ago and are Under Development but with no published shipping dates:

Of the 24 Community Pricing (CP) titles that entered pre-pub during the period September to December 2012, 16 have already shipped and a further 4 have shipping dates, leaving just 4 without.
Basically, Logos is getting quicker at releasing resources and is releasing an increasing number of resources [:)], but they rarely communicate about the resources that are slower to push into production (see list above) [:(].

Hopefully this will be reinstated, just as the earlier Baker titles were, but it would be good to have consistency. Baker titles are going on and off like disco lights at the moment.
At the other end of the scale, a resource added on 28 February has also just had a shipping date added, and should be out in just over two weeks:

More new shipping dates, so another update.
It's good to see a number of the Baker titles getting shipping dates. [:)] The problem seems largely resolved, though there still seems to be a slight delay on the Baker titles, including the 10 bundles added in July last year, while the Herman Ridderbos Collection and Introducing the New Testament: A Historical, Literary, and Theological Survey have had shipping dates added in the past and then withdrawn.
There have also been shipping dates published and then withdrawn for the following ex Community Pricing titles: [:(] The Works of A. J. Maas (4 vols.), The Works of Ezekiel Hopkins (4 vols.), The Works of George A. Barton (15 vols.), although there appears to be a typo in the shipping date for the Maas collection. It looks like it has shipped, though it's still on my order page with an expected shipping date of Apr 11, which may mean April 2011, as the other dates are displayed in mm/dd/yyyy format and it is listed above items due to ship later today.
Of the 72 titles added to pre-pub in October to December last year and that have gone Under Development, most have now shipped, and only 18 are still to get shipping dates. [:)] In fact most pre-pub titles added in January and that have gone Under Development have had shipping dates added. [:)] For this reason, I've included all the titles added over three months ago. It makes the list quite long, and it would be unfair to expect an update from Logos for titles that haven't even been around for twelve months, but it seems fair to ask for an update on at least the top 17 titles, which have seemingly become stuck, having been around since before May last year and that still do not show a shipping date. [:^)]

Another round of shipping dates have been published, so I've removed the titles from the latest list (see below). Luke 6-10: MacArthur New Testament Commentary has been withdrawn (see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/69039.aspx), but the biggest news is the number of resources that have been floundering in the Gathering Interest stage for a long time, but have just been pushed through to Under Development and given Shipping Dates. That's great news as there are no longer so many older titles around. They never made it onto the list here, which focuses on titles Under Development.
As far as this list goes, perhaps the best news is that the oldest title, Synopsis of the Greek Sources for the Hasmonean Period, dating back to 2006, now has a shipping date. Another round of shipping dates have been published, so I've removed the relevant titles from the list below. I've added titles that were added in 2012, but that have only just gone Under Development. Hopefully these will be produced before too long.
There are just 38 titles left on the list, and 7 of these have gone Under Development in the last three months, so it's definitely still looking positive. There are 12 titles which have been Under Development for over a year. Reformed Dogmatics (5 vols.) is an ongoing translation project and Westminster Bible Companion Series (33 vols.) has only just gone Under Development, but it would be good to have an update on the other 10 titles, especially the three Word Biblical Commentaries.

I added just one more title to the list, which went Under Development in May 2013, but I haven't added any other titles that went Under Development within the last two months. Four more titles have now got shipping dates, including the 86 Volume Baker set, which also includes 9 sub-bundles. [:D]
That leaves 25 titles that were added before 31 December 2012 and went Under Development more than two months ago, but still have no shipping dates (and a couple of titles that went Under Development in June):

As we are well into 2014, I thought I'd look to see how many of the titles on the list above still had not been released. I haven't added any new resources, so the following are the 13 titles that were added before 31 December 2012 and went Under Development more than seven months ago, but still have no shipping dates.
The good news: 7 titles have been released.
The bad news: Logos still does not provide updates on these seemingly lost/forgotten resources.

(The same situation may apply to the other WBC volumes, I'm not sure.)

Thanks for this, Bradley. I can't keep up with the forums as much as I used to. It looks like Bob announced that something is being done about this problem at last, further down the Word Biblical Commentary post that you provided a link for. Hopefully it's not too far away, given that he announced it was "a few months out" in August.
Since I started this thread, there have been very few resources that have fallen into the category of "added over a year ago and went into development over six months ago, but remain in pre-pub with no shipping date". I think that these resources may need special treatment unless the system Bob referred to handles them well.
Regarding the Word Biblical Commentaries, I'm not sure that Logos have released any new volumes since Zondervan took over Thomas Nelson, so I'm guessing that's part of the problem. Hopefully the new system will indicate something appropriate here.
Regarding the Acts volume, Amazon.com shows this as only available second hand, which is surprising as it has not been published yet. Amazon.co.uk suggests it will be released in June 2014. Maybe Logos could suggest dates similarly. Then again, I don't think Steve has confidence in it being published by June 2014, so maybe even Amazon.co.uk is being a bit hopeful.
It would be great if you (or someone else from Logos) could post something here when the change is made, though I'm hoping it will be obvious to everyone.

Eight months since the last major update, I thought I'd see what changes have been made. There were still 13 items on the list back then.
On 14 August, Logos emailed those who had pre-ordered the Word Biblical Commentaries with the following message:
"We are removing these works from the Pre-Pub marketplace and Logos.com. The books are yet to be completed, and rights issues have come up with the publishers. The products will be removed from your order history and you will not be charged."
This is not great news, but it's good to see that Logos has made a decision and communicated it clearly.
Four of the other resources have been released, leaving:
High Definition Commentary: Romans - 30 Aug 2010 (In House, now included in Lexham Press Scholar’s Bundle, so hopefully this means it won't be too much longer)
Reformed Dogmatics (5 vols.) - 25 Mar 2011 (Translation Project - taster shipped 14 Sep 2012, being published in stages, so far volume 1 has been published along with three chapters of volume 2.)
