Logos Bible software 4 does not start

Hi.

I am trying to install Logos 4 in a notebook with windows 7. It installs Logos 4 prerequisits and Logos Bible Software 4 (they appear on control panel), but when it starts the Logos 4 the windows shows a message that Logos Bible Software 4 stopped working.

Any ideas on how I can fix this instalation?

Welcome to the forum.  I'm sure that you will find your answer here as there are many who have helped me in the past, but in the small chance that you don't, the Customer Support at Logos does a great job as well.

I am having somewhat the same problem.  I have been using Logos but now I keep getting the message - Logos Bible Software stopped working.  The Logos screen comes up but then none of the windows opens.  I just get the stopped working message.

Any advice would be helpful.  Logs attached

Bob, I have taken a look at your files, and I can say that I do not have a clue on your problem.  It is going to take someone with a lot more knowledge than I have.

I'm no expert at working with these either, but it looks like there's some kind of corruption in a guide you have open.

Have you tried opening to a blank layout (Hold the CTRL key down while Logos loads and choose "Open to blank layout." If that works, you may need to rebuild your layout from scratch, or load one previous to the one that includes the guide for the passage you were working on.

Your logs show that you're running 4.5 SR-5, which is about six months old. I don't know that the crash has been fixed in a newer version, but it would probably be worth upgrading to 4.6 SR-1 (http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LDLS4Installer/Logos4Setup.exe) to see if that helps.

Richard's suggestion to "Open to a blank layout" is also worth trying.

From my own experience the user needs to upgrade. The problem seems to have arisen since 4.6 was released; whilst it was in beta I did not have this issue with 4.5.

Thanks for the tip.  That did take care of the problem.  I was able to start Logos and then do the update.  Things are working fine now.
