If you look back in the forum to when the new version of MAC OS came out, there where many postings on it - there was a fix, had to change a line in one of the mac files... shouldn't be too hard to find.
Sorry which new Mac OS Version?
Ovidlu -
I can't tell if your post is genuine or part of a spam scheme. If you want help, please post the log file directly to the thread without using a web shortening link.
I'm not Ovidu, but I updated to OS X 10.8.2 last night and now this morning Logos 4 crashes every time I try to open it.
I came here this morning to see if anyone else was having this problem and if there is a fix.
What log file do you want to see? The one from the error report that was sent to Apple? Or another one?
I can paste mine if that would be pertinent.
The most important on is the logos4.log file. HERE is the wiki link for logging. You must enable logging first. If you have troubles, let us know.
Absolutely! When two users suffer from crashes, the symptom might be the same (crash) but the cause might be completely different! The only way to know is to look at the logs.
Hi alabama24. I'm Ovidiu. I've tried to include the Logos4.log file through the Attachment option in the forum but it doesn't work.
Ovidiu - Have you tried starting with a blank layout? Press and hold the command key when you start up logos. This will bring up a log in screen. Check the appropriate box to start to a blank layout.
Hi alabama24, yes I have done that but with no success.
OK. I am on my iPad currently. I will try to remember to take a look when I get back on my computer if someone else doesn't come along first. [:)]
Here is your log file:
53045.Logos4.log
Ovidiu - Have you tried reinstalling the engine? You can download the stable mac version HERE. I looked at your logs, but my techie credentials are not high enough. If a reinstall of the engine doesn't work, someone else will have to help out.
Welcome [:D]
Logos Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Mac_Troubleshooting#How_to_Report_Bugs_in_Logos_4_Mac
Would like to look at Logos 4 Mac diagnostic log files: Logos4.log, Indexer.log, Logos4Error.log that often have context for Logos 4 Mac crash.
Another option is contacting Logos Technical Support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact
Apologies: after my OS X 10.8 install and upgrade to OS 10.8.2, Logos 4.6a Beta 2 is working on my iMac.
Keep Smiling [:)]
Thanks for the help. I have been trying to obtain the data required, but run into problem after problem.
When I attempt either of the following steps, I get the same error message for both: "Logos Bible Software 4 quit unexpectedly":
Enable Mac logging for one session
To turn on logging, launch Logos 4 Mac, then quickly press and holdcommand key until Sign In appears, release command key. Optional: click “Use Blank Layout” Click Sign In
When I attempt to open the download: "Logos4MacLogging.app", I get the error message: "'Logos4MacLogging.app' can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers." I don't know how to change my security preferences. I looked, but couldn't figure it out.
I opened Terminal and typed the following in:
Last login: Thu Sep 27 11:41:25 on ttys000
huber-2:~ daled$ defaults write com.logos.Logos_Bible_Software_4 LoggingEnabled -bool YES
huber-2:~ daled$ defaults read com.logos.Logos_Bible_Software_4 LoggingEnabled
1
huber-2:~ daled$
However, when I attempted to launch Logos 4 Mac, I received the error message: "Logos Bible Software 4 quit unexpectedly"
Thanks for the help. I don't know what I am doing. If I am doing something wrong, let me know and I'll try to correct it.
Danke.
NOTE: I don't know what would happen if you installed the app and then changed the setting back, but the "allow applications downloaded" feature is to help prevent malware and viruses from infecting your computer… it is a new feature of 10.8.

Here is a logging.zip I created. Will it have the files you mention above? Or do I need to look elsewhere?
7651.Logging.zip
Many thanks.
The Indexer.log and Logos4.log file have messages that indicate application is corrupt (missing files inside bundle). Suggest using wiki steps to reinstall Logos 4 Mac application => http://wiki.logos.com/Mac_Troubleshooting#Update_Error
That fixed it. I am up and running.
Thank you.
