I am having trouble with my McAfee Software blocking Logos 4 sofotware on my PC   as "Risky Connection Blocked." McAfee is closed and I would like to know how to unblock the site?

I've had the same. Disabling the McAfee firewall for 15 minutes then restarting Logos allows the updates to download and install.

I am reluctant to change my McAfee settings further since the process mentioned in the popup is the Windows Host Process or something similar. It sounds like something I wouldn't want open the firewall to permanently.

I started having the same problem with Faithlife Study Bible Videos trying to access LOGOS servers. You have to decide for yourself if you trust Logos enough to open those firewall ports. I have decided that I will allow it. so here are the steps

    1) Open McAfee, click on the green "On" next to "Firewall" then click on "Settings"

    2) open up the drop down next to Net Guard

    3) select the IP address you want to allow and click "Edit"

    4) Ensure that it is Logos Bible Softwared that connects to that IP Address, Click "Allow" then "Apply"

Do steps 3 and 4 for each IP address you wish to allow. NOTE: You can always go back in and Block those addresses if you get undesired results.

I have this same issue, especially after nearly every patch....I think it is caused by McAfee not liking Amazon hosting IP addresses.

I use McAfee Security Center, and I wish it was easier to fix the issue.  For my version, right click McAfee in the system tray and select "Change Settings // Firewall"

In the pop-up window, look at a couple of things:  "Internet Connections for Programs" and see what it is doing for the Logos programs (main prog +indexer)

My main issue happens in "Net Guard"...look there for the blocked IP address that was listed in your pop-up & "Edit" it so Net Guard allows it.

    David, thank you.

Freely I have received, freely I give. I just like the fact that I can contribute to the Forum a small token of what I have gleaned from it.
