Beta 3 - Bible Sense Lexicon issues...

I have beta 5 on a new computer tht I had not played with Bible Sense on....see attached graphic, I get nothing in the drop down, the database seems like it is empty if I am showing the right folder, and you can see I tried "Update resources" and it did not bring it down. All my resources and things seem to be syncing properly.

Is this a bug or is there something I need to do to get this working?

Do you run Logos 5 under a different logos.com account than the one you use for the forums? It's possible the Logos 5 beta test resources were unlocked only to your forum account (so they won't download to Logos 5 if you're logged in with your regular account).

If that's the case, thanks for testing that Logos 5 doesn't crash if you run it as a user who hasn't upgraded to Logos 5 but has only downloaded the upgraded software for free. [:)]

I sent you the email Bradley....for others, I purchase Logos resources on another account for Internet security protection, so once that is updated I'll regression test my issues and assume they will go away.

Anyway, I was thinking Bradley - if this scenario could be seen when Logos 5 is released, we might have a very hard time diagnosing what the user has done that causes features to not work, if we don't remember this. If a Logos 5 install is not authorized to run Logos 5 specific features, would it be worth an error message being displayed, or a line in the about box saying "Not authorized", or some easy clue that it will be more obvious especially to us on the forums what is going on? I realize this may not be considered an "error", that someone may be allowed to install Logos 5 but not upgrade, in which case a line in the About box or somewhere else might be helpful (or instead of the title of the Window being "Logos Bible Software 5" make it "Logos Bible Software 5 - non-upgraded version" (I am sure you can figure out a more pleasing thing to say but you get the idea).

I was starting to review all kinds of security and permissions things to see why parts of Logos 5 were not downloading, which would have been way off base. Just a thought that could save time in the future...

Agreed. Either hide the menu option, or better (for diagnostic and marketing) place a message in the main panel of the BSL that says to access this tool you need to upgrade.

In the next update, locked features will be hidden from the UI.

Wonder if would like Logos 5 tested using another account that does not have Logos 5 resources ? (could test using my wife's account)
