I just started using Windows 8, and I'm interested in the Metro app for Logos.

  1. Is it a prelude of a full-fledged application from within the "Metro" part of Win8?
  2. Is it primarily for Surface devices, more for reading than analysis, for instance?
  3. Or is there another reason?
Just curious.

From http://community.logos.com/forums/t/57705.aspx:

Bob Pritchett:

The goal is to build a tablet/mobile app (and hopefully Windows Phone 8) that is similar to our iOS and Android apps; not the full Logos Bible Software, but a useful subset that is well suited to mobile use.

There's also a special forum for Windows Store Apps; the developers are more likely to see your questions about the app if you post them there: http://community.logos.com/forums/108.aspx

It looks to me like an early release of something better later on. At the moment it simply offers basic reading and browsing one's library. The version number is which appears to be a beta release (normally a final version will start with a whole number).
