Hi All,
When I start my install, it makes it to the installation of the .NET framework. However, it never makes it past this, after around 5 mins I get a mesage that says "waiting for another install to complete" and then I get the Logos 5 Setup error message: The Installation of the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 did not succeed.
Hi Brian,
welcome to the Logos user forum!
It will help if you post your OS specifications, such as "Win 7 Home Premium 32bit".
.NET 4.5 will not install on Win XP, for example, and either the .NET or the Logos install won't work on some pre-release versions of Win 8.

Running Logos 9 latest (beta) version on Win 10
Hi Mick,
Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
You can try downloading and installing .NET Framework 4.5 manually from here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/5a4x27ek.aspx
Logos 9 | Faithlife Connect Essentials27" Win10 (21H2) AMD FX-8350 (4GHz) 32GB DDR3 2x500SSD 1x240SSD 2x3TBHDDrMBP13" macOS 10.15.7 i7 (2.9GHz) 8GB DDR3 512SSDiPadPro (2020) iPadOS 15.4.1 | iPhoneXR iOS 15.4.1
Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it but had the same lack of success (same error message).
Did it give any specific error (like an error number or anything)?
It just said another installation process is running, it wanted me to click retry but, when I did, it still did not work.
Have you tried restarting your computer? This will normally fix errors related to another installation process is running. I would suggest restarting and trying the manual install from Microsoft's website again. If that doesn't work can try something else from there.
Thanks for you help, that didn't work either. I assume there is some other problem with my machine that will require further attention.
Try this:
WindowsInstaller
If that doesn't work then I've got some other suggestions.
BTW, if you are not logged into an administrator account then you'll need to right click on services.msc and click "Run as administrator".
Great idea, but, alas, it was already set to 'Manual'.
Brian I'm wondering if an antivirus is blocking it? Additionally, have you run a registry cleaner or other software that is designed to clean out errors in your computer. I use Advanced System Care (the free is good) the paid is better.

Check out this guide and see if it helps your problem:

If none of the steps help then try his .NET Framework Cleanup Tool:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx
This will remove all versions of .NET Framework so you'll have to reinstall the one's you need afterwards. 1.1, 3.5, and 4.5 should cover them all (though you may not need 1.1 - depends on if you have any programs that require it, and 3.5 includes 2.0). Once you get them all installed you'll probably want to run Windows Update repeatedly until all the .NET updates are installed. Hope that works for you.
Since the topic of registry cleaners has come up, I highly recommend Macecraft's JV16 Power Tools. It's a suite of utilities, but to my knowledge the registry cleaner portion is probably one of the best on the market. Some people do not even recommend using registry cleaners because of the risk of false positives.
I would recommend trying my previous post first though.
Thanks for posting your issue. We would like to understand the issue better before recommending a solution.
Can you provide additional logs from the machine as per below:1. Download and run this diagnostic tool from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e0da314f-6216-4a18-bc6b-7d29cf83af20&displaylang=en 2. Share the log generated by this tool: %temp%\vslogs.cab through skydrive or a similar offering

Hallo Please can someone help I'm using windows 7 on a 64bit system - I had logos. 4 running successfully no problems. Two days ago I loaded logos 5 which loaded logos prerequisites and .Net Framework 4.5 - my machine now has started powering off on startup randomly with no error messages. it starts in safe mode and I am trying to understand what I should do - processor is quadcore
Hi Mungo - and welcome to the forums.
If this turns out to be a Logos issue I would suggest starting a new thread so it isn't lost.
However, I would be very surprised if the Logos software is causing your machine to power off or to cause it to start in safe mode. I recommend looking for other causes first - hardware errors, driver updates, etc.
