Michael Sullivan:

Thank you, Dear Young Brother, for your posting!           I am so excited and eager for this work!         That's truly a really great price also!

Nothing at all in the world like it, eh?    Am so grateful for Concordia Publishing House!          *smile*

Peace to you!                BTW, I spent almost 20 years of my Pastoral Ministry in the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan area finishing my Saskatchewan days at Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saskatoon.    Was out to Middle Lake, Saskatchewan and Bethany Pioneer Village LAST Canadian Thanksgiving and preached for the 50th of the Amalgamation of Faith Lutheran Church.  God bless you and your family and your ministry.  My youngest son and two grandkids still live out there on the prairies and I hope to visit again if it ever becomes summer there again!    (I live East of Toronto right now in Oshawa, Ontario.)

What I don't see is the ESV in the larger canon with interlinear etc.

That MJ would be truly great and I most certainly would rejoice!                I will likely check it out tomorrow or the next day.  Here are some Cyberbrethren Reviews

Giving it up for the day!        *smile*                Will commend the grief you and your family are experiencing, Martha, to our Great Physician who took our Pain and Our Help and Healing upon Himself!

That would be fantastic but who knows if oxford wants to offer the ESVa up for logos to do that.

Dear Milford,

I did not know that your were in Saskatchewan.  Small internet world. Smile  I, unfortunately, am no longer there, but currently serve a parish in Kewaunee, Wisconsin.  I  say "unfortunately" not because I don't love the congregation I am currently serving (I love my congregation very much) but because of the sad reason for my departure from Regina.  Apostles Lutherans Church (WELS), the small mission congregation  I was serving in Regina, was defunded from the mission budget.  Even though I was willing to stay - possibly even work part-time - the members of the congregation strongly encouraged me to accept the call Kewaunee when I received it.  They were very worried about how I would otherwise support my growing family.  They are now being served by a pastor from a neighboring congregation in Saskatoon.

The LORD wanted me in Kewaunee.  He works in mysterious ways.  Praise be to His name.

In brotherly love,

Michael

Michael,

You are in my prayers.  I have had to close two small congregations, and both were extremely sad occasions. You are in my prayers that your new congregation will grow in the knowledge and service of our Lord Jesus Christ. Btw, I'm and LC-MS pastor in Virginia and I use lots of WELS material and Subscribe to the Wisconsin Lutheran Quarterly.  I'm looking forward to the release of additional Logos editions of said journal.

Your in the One who was, IS and always will be, Jesus, Christ!

Dear Wayne and Milford,

Thank you for your prayers.  I pray that the LORD blesses both of you as well - your family, your ministries, and your growth in God's Word for the strengthening of your faith.  I look forward to meeting you both in the future - if not during our time of grace then most certainly in the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

In brotherly love,

Michael

A Lutheran by the name of Sullivan!

Peace, Michael!

This is my last post in this thread, I hope! *smile*              It does give me a chance to share with you that I truly will be praying for you and your family as I can, my prayer list being quite gigantic ..  but I and the Lord work on it!          *smile*

After I signed off yesterday, I realised that some of my brain cells seem to be disappearing as I continue to grow older.                     At least yesterday, I had a Senior's Moment, as it is said.

Lying in bed last night on my way to blessed sleep, talking to the Lord, thinking many thoughts, some of which were great and noble thoughts     ....      all of a sudden I remembered that my first German Professor when I went to Concordia College in Milwaukee was "John Sullivan"!            Can you ever imagin???!!!!!

Professor John Sullivan who led us young men through quite a number of great German works including Brueder Grimms' Maerchen.              Absolutely love the Grimm Brothers' Fairy Tales!              I think Dr. Sullivan's family came from Alsace-Lorraine which also doesn't exist any more.

Dear Milford,

What and interesting note!  Dr. John F. Sullivan was my grandfather.  He died in 2001.  He was from New York, but his wife (my grandmother) was from Alsace.  He moved from Concordia Milwaukee to France in the early '60's (before the split) to help out the French Lutheran Free Church.  From there he went to Northwestern College in Watertown, WI., and served there until his retirement.

Have a blessed Sunday.

In Brotherly love,

Michael
