After my concerns regarding pricing I thought it important to share my first impressions about L5 after going with the minimal cross grade. Everything seems faster and more stable. Once all the downloading and indexing and waiting, things just seem to flow very good. I have not done much to really crunch things on either the PC or OS X side, but my preliminary speed test (find all occurrences of of the masculine article) returned over 19,000 hits in an average of 2.5 seconds for both platforms. That is a usable ROI. No more setting up a search and pouring the coffee whilst waiting for results. A second observation before I turn in. The search help is a welcome and overdue addition. I would expect that I am not the only user that wants to read the help file and then flail away at things until I figure it out. this is the first iteration of L4 or L5 where there was enough contextual help to actually make that possible. I look forward to using these new search powers in responsibly investigating the gospel of Luke.

Thanks to all who have been and continue to facilitate the upgrade process.

Bob, disregard my question. I now understand what the minimal crossgrade is.  --Skip

I agree with your findings!  Everything seems to be faster and I also love the new search helps!
