Hello Friends,

I tried to search for a thread addressing this issue, but did not locate any specific.  If a thread exists, I apologize for repetition:

I have crossgraded to Logos5 and my settings to make text size default to 90% is set, and in the first column (i.e. sermon starter guide) on the left is affected by changing default text size.  However, any other resources opened into the other columns remains at 100% regardless of what I set default text size to.  Is anyone else having this issue and is it resolved somehow?  I vaguely recall this being an issue early on in v.4, but I don't remember.  Thanks for the help!

In Program Settings?

Rev. Aaron:
and in the first column (i.e. sermon starter guide) on the left is affected by changing default text size.

For an individual resource/guide/tool you can make a change there,  but did you make a change before opening a new resource?

Rev. Aaron:
However, any other resources opened into the other columns remains at 100%

In Windows I couldn't reproduce this behaviour, even after changing one resource's font before opening a new one. Are you a Mac user?

An alternative might be to use the Program Scaling setting to 90% instead of the Default Text Size?

I'm interested in what others think, but I'm using Program Scaling because:

  1. It applies to resources I have had open.
  2. It reduces the space taken by the toolbars and tabs also.
  3. When I replace my laptop with one with a higher resolution screen next year, I'm hoping that changing this single setting back to 100% gives me the same look on the full HD screen (1920 x 1080) that I currently get on my low res laptop (1366 x 768).

If anyone can see problems with that logic, or has a better suggestion, I'd be glad to hear.

Thanks Dave and Allen,

Dave - I have changed the default text size in Program Settings, and prior to opening any resources.  I am operating in Windows 7.

Allen - I like the idea of changing program scaling, but the text sizes remain unaffected as a whole and are all different sizes.

As I look at the screen again this morning, all the program tabs (Passage Guide, Exegetical Guide, Information, and Text Comparison) all seem to be at 90%.  In my other tabs with my Bibles and Commentaries, the text is much larger.  Even when I change the default text size, these remain unaffected.  I have to go into each individual tab and change text size, which I did not have to do previously.

The following is a screen capture of what I am talking about:

I understood this to be the uual expected result?

Try changing the Default font to the old Logos 4 Default

Hi Dave - I have tried using the Logos 4 Default font thinking that would solve the issue, but it only changes the passage guide column and information column.  the windows with my commentaries and bibles remain unchanged despite any size I set "default text" to.

Steve - I did not need to change the default text size in each window while using Logos 4.  I do understand that one can change font size in each individual window regardless, but a global setting like "default font size" should change all font sizes.

Thanks for the help, I'll keep on trying to see what works.

CORRECTION - I just found the issue:

It seems that my layouts from Logos 4, prior to my crossgrade to Logos 5 have been imported into the newer version - however for some reason, changing default text size within those layouts produces no result except as previously stated.

I did discover that if I perform a new search from the default layout, I am able to then change default text size.  It appears that there is an issue with the importing of Logos 4 settings with regard to layouts previously saved.

There have been a few issues with that, but it seems that one has to use each panel/tab (or replace it) before the L5 changes kick in.
