I'm wanting to do a basic search for "rain" in a possibility of two collections.

I tried ...

rain AND (collection:illustrations OR collection:dictionaries)

But the results came up nil.

It seems I can't search using fields that describe a resource; only fields that are within a resource. Is this correct? Or any other ideas?

You can choose one collection from the "in" menu which normally shows  "Entire Library" (Basic Search) or "All Bibles" (Bible Search), etc. Fields only describe searchable resource attributes, but they can be selected from the "All Text" menu (Basic Search) as well as being used in the Find box.

For more info see http://wiki.logos.com/Detailed_Search_Help

If you want to search both collections then make one Collection that combines them i.e. drag the collection names from the Open menu to "+ these resources" as if they were resources.

For more info see http://wiki.logos.com/Collections

Okay, that answers my question in that I can only search for attributes in the resource and not resource type.

Hi Alan

Alan:

Okay, that answers my question in that I can only search for attributes in the resource and not resource type.

Sorry but I don't understand what you mean.

Did Dave's suggestion of making a collection which contains the other two help?
