No Catechism

I just posted the Capstone, the biggest Verbum (Catholic) package deal available and I've been shocked to discover that it didn't include the Catechism, in spite of advertising it as a feature. The videos insist that 'A study of Catholicism begins with the Catechism' but then they only gave me the latin version! It's not in my library and it's getting no search hits at all. Given the size of Capstone, I'm wondering if there are other things I've not received and just haven't noticed yet. Can't say I'm impressed with Logos yet. Can anyone advise what may have gone wrong?

Welcome to the forums.
Let me guess: you don't live in the US? They're not allowed to sell the American CCC outside the US.

That explains it. I'm from the UK.
Thanks!
Though that probably means the end of logos for me. If I can't have the catechism, it doesn't seem like there's any point.

usunlocked could be your friend
you just need a billing address

When you purchased Capstone through the checkout, you would have seen your Capstone product switch to Capstone International, and the price drop slightly (at least that's what happened to me).
If you switch your billing address to a US address (as suggested above), you should be able to purchase the full edition of Capstone for a few dollars. However, the blurb on the website says " the Catechism is only available to customers living in the United States and its territories", so I can't recommend you do this.

I can confirm that's what I experienced with my purchase.

A message can be left for any user via clicking on the individual's name and leaving a messge on faithlife.
1. Logon to faithlife,
2. Select message.
3. type in the individuals name and select from the drop down option.
4. type message. If the individual has set up faithlife to send them emails, that should be enough.

Try email to Andrew Jones [andrew.jones @ logos.com] And ask when the CCC will be available world wide.
[[Don't know but I would guess that the current contract for the CCC is with the American Bishops]]

Ah! I took screenshots of that behaviour, but until now I never understood it. However, those screenshots show Capstone International as costing $0.23 more than if I'd lived in the US. OK, I already own the CCC (ordered early enough that they hadn't figured out the restriction yet), so I shouldn't have a discount due to that, and the sum, of course, is irrelevant, but just out of curiosity, can anyone figure out why it would cost me more?

I haven't tried Faithlife, but you can click Forum Activity or the avatar for the person you want to contact, and then Add comment. However, if he/she has disabled notifications, you won't be told. Your message just disappears into cyberspace.

Hello. It is true that we cannot sell the Catechism outside the United States. This has to do with the way that the Vatican has delegated copyright control to the various episcopal conferences. We have to receive permission from each conference in order to sell into their jurisdiction. Currently, we only have this permission from the USCCB. You can rest assured that we are trying to secure permissions in all the English speaking world, and hopefully beyond. Anyone with an "international" version of a library will receive the CCC as soon as we can legally make it available. I apologize for this, and we are going to make the disclaimer much more prominent. Thanks for your patience.

Overseas users are currently able to purchase the Catechism buy buying the Catholic bundle. It's $79.95, but if you have Verbum you should get a good discount for already owning some of the volumes: http://www.logos.com/product/28198/catholic-studies-bundle-s

Whatever happened to this promise, Andrew? There's still no disclaimer on any of the Verbum package and upgrade pages that I've checked. There should be one on each, plus a footnote or something every time the CCC is mentioned. It should be impossible to miss, but instead it's impossible to find. Virtually no one who's buying a package is going to look at the CCC product page. Now we have another customer who feels cheated: Verbum Master & the English CCC.

Or, for 15.00 USD they could simply buy the Catechism by it's self http://www.logos.com/product/17215/catechism-of-the-catholic-church . It worked for me and I live in Japan.

Do you by any chance pay with an American credit card?
EDIT: I just saw your post in the other thread, where you say you bought it as a prepub. That explains it. I don't think they were aware of the restrictions at that time.

What you can only tell from some pages on the site, and what I have personally verified, is that the Catechism is now available to Canadian users. I think everyone else is still out of luck.
