Any Way to Set DEFAULT Social Highlight Visual Filters to OFF?

I DO want to see what others have highlighted, but I do NOT want that visual filter set ON by default. To have them open OFF when I open each book (often in a classroom setting when the social info is a distraction), s my only real option to turn it off in SETTINGS--and then turn the settings back on IF I want to see social info for one resource?
Is there NO way to set the DEFAULT behavior for all resources to NOT visible?
Grace & Peace,
Bill

Are you talking about Popular Highlights?
If o, in a resource that has them as a visual filter, you can right click on the name "Popular Highlights" instead of unclicking its checkbox, and you will see the option to "Do not show in any resources", which you can turn back on when you want.
If you are referring to something else can you be more specific?

Hi Dominic - yes, I"m talking about popular highlights... I DO want to see them if I check the visual filter, but I want each resource to open with the default set to NOT seeing them.... Too often, it's a distraction when I open a set of resources for a Bible study. I have to go & uncheck the visual filter for each resource, then recheck when I'm preparing off-line when I do want to see them. I'd like the behavior to be just the opposite: default to off, but let me turn them on when I want to see them.
So far, the only way I've found to cause the default to be off is to disable them in Settings.... then I have to go re-enable them to be able to see them in ONE resource....
Is there any way to set the default behavior? Thanks for the response!
Grace & Peace,
Bill

On rereading your post, I just discovered EXACTLY what I'm looking for & tried it... I turned popular highlights back on & right clicked on it as you suggested. I didn't know that was there!
Thank you! Problem solved....

There is a way Bill, but I think its in the wrong place, but was chastised by MVP's for making the suggestion we should be able to do this from the global settings menu. ( My mind still can not comprehend how anyone would think it logical to bury a global setting in a menu of an individual object and further how that can be a good idea for people providing telephone support.)
To turn if off you need to first go to the visual filters menu in a resource that has a popular highlight. Screen shot probably explains it better than words.
Edit: Ok MJ beat me to the punch I tend to take a bit to long putting together visual explanations - but i enjoy doing it.

What setting do you mean, Bill?

You're using the beta 5.0b and there is no setting for popular highlights, which is why I'm wondering what Bill used.

Martha pointed to the two settings I turned off (Show Community Ratings/Tags). Afterwards, I didn't see underlines (highlights) in the resources I had open, but I didn't do an exhaustive check, either. Dave, you may be right that the change had no effect & that I didn't see underlines because I'd already turned them off....
The solution several pointed to (right click) was what ended up working.I agree with Andrew that that's a crazy place to bury a system default setting. That said, i'm sure glad there was one!
My problem is solved... and THANK YOU all for your responses.

I was also getting annoyed by this feature and wondering how I could get rid of it, so thanks to those who provided the answer.
I also think it a strange place for this option and am wondering whether it meets BillS' original requirement of being able to have a default of OFF but to switch on for those resources that one wishes? The reason I say this is that, once switched off, there will be no highlight to click on to selectively enable...

I went back & tested in the layout where I 1st started to APPRECIATE Popular Highlights. In one resource, the setting was present but unchecked. I checked other resources, & some had the unchecked control... others did not. I had some highlights in one of those resources without the control, so POTENTIALLY, it could have had displayed the setting to display popular highlights. So I went back to the 1st resource that did have the control, right clicked on it, & displayed popular highlights in all appropriate resources. The resources in this layout that had had popular highlights now displayed them again. Reversing the process "undisplays" them. It's working as I'd hoped... but why not in some resources I'd highlighted in? Apparently, not enough others have highlighted in them for them to to be an "appropriate" resource in which to display popular highlihgts.
One more thought. Why display it in the Visual Filters control? I stumbled across something that may explain it... Try right clicking on ANY of the controls in the Visual Filter. ALL of them can be set to default on or off the same way. So it isn't just setting the default for THIS control, it's all of them. Logos rocks for giving us that control.
It's still less than intuitive to find it.
Lastly, in Program Settings, I went back & toggled on & off the Show Community Ratings / Tags. Toggling them off makes Logos unresponsive for several seconds (10-15). Not good.
In addition, the question mark popups to give "help info" about those functions are inoperative. Unlike all the other ?'s on the right hand side, those 2 don't appear to be functioning.

Bill, you are talking about settings only available in the 5.0b beta and this is the main Logos 5 Forum. You can re-post this concern in the desktop beta forum.
