We are seriously thinking of moving to Proclaim but I am concerned that while things work smooth on Tues afternoon that Sunday with all the traffic on Logos servers that things will slow down.... does this happen?

No!

Once the service has been synced to the computer that is doing the presentation then that computer is the only thing that can slow the presentation down.

The presentation itself is independent of Logos servers and (apart from streaming videos from the net and delivering presentations to hand held devices) independent of the internet.

How to get logs and post them. (now tagging post-apocalyptic fiction as current affairs)

This is semi true... If you have your presentation sync'd then things run GREAT!!

Things that havent worked so well for me:

- Syncing during a service

- Signals being sent to LOGOS Bible app

- Controlling the service from mobile device

That being said, the good outweighs the bad. We have ProPresenter as well but im going to stick with proclaim and see if they can fix the above as well as a couple other issues I have.

Since I have started using Proclaim I havent been able to control the service using their mobile app on a Sunday or a Tuesday night bible study. Works perfectly before service starts but when I need it it doesnt work what so ever.

Coming from ProPresenter I was excited Proclaim had an Android app because ProPresenter didnt. But I havent been able to use it with any confidence. ProPresenter didnt depend on the internet, as long as the computer and my ipad were on the same network it worked like butter.

That is strange..... I am using it in the trial mode (not in a service) and it is flawless. Worries me that you find this...... this Sunday we are going to use it in the service (fully licensed)

Have you tested it in trial mode on a Sunday during the time you would be having service?

I, like you tested and tested before I purchased Proclaim. My first service was our New Year's Eve service and I have had no luck since then. Let me know how it works for you, maybe its something on my end although I have tried 2 different networks. The church as well as my LTE hotspot on the presentation computer and my tablet.

We have used it on Sundays.  Sometimes it does seem to have server communication issues... but it has worked more or less well.  It's never entirely died/not worked, that I'm aware of...

That said, due to the 2 second lag, it may be easier to use some sort of remote device hooked up directly to the computer (a remote presentation thing, like from Logitech) and use the tablet as a remote viewer... :)

George, if the above is addressed to me, yes. I am in Southern On.

It would be nice to hear from someone in Logos about this, ....if they are aware of it.

Mike, we did have some server performance issues on a couple of Sundays, January 6th in particular, which had to do with the increasing number of mobile users connecting and looking for Proclaim signals. We made some internal changes to the way this is handled, and expect that performance should be greatly improved since last week.

For anyone still experiencing server communication issues, please do let us know, preferably with specific times that you experienced the problem and log files so that we can investigate further. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply Ann. Question: If signals could be turned off, would this stop it happening in the future?

Things were going flawless for us until late december and this month.  I guess their server load has increased.  So far we have been unable to load anything to the server on Sunday Mornings in a month now.  Our pastor uploads his powerpoints on Sunday Mornings and for the past month we have had to load the powerpoint ona  thumb drive and load them on the computer in the sanctuary and store them local.   We have not been able to use the proclaim remote on a Sunday morning in a month and have resorted to using the old school clicker for the past month. Very frustrating...

I was told that I was part of an isolated group and that only some people were having this problem, a new release would come out to fix the problem (never happened) and never heard anything else again.

There have been two occasions where the Proclaim servers have gone down on Sunday mornings, causing me to have a huge panic.  I have my office computer on which I do the Proclaim each week, and a Sanctuary computer which plays the Proclaim.  When the servers go down, the presentation won't sync with the Sanctuary computer.  One time I unplugged my computer, carried it with all the cables to the Sanctuary, hooked it up to the projector just as the service was starting.  Ever since then I've tried to sync the Sanctuary computer with the Proclaim servers before Sunday so that the service is downloaded onto that machine in case the servers are not working, or our internet is down.

Here's another thing I've noticed: the Proclaim will run for about 2-3 hours "On Air" before it has problems advancing slides with animated backgrounds.  Usually there is a 1-2 second delay, for which we can adjust, but if the computer is relying on the internet, we've had occasions where the Proclaim won't advance to the next slide for 5-7 seconds!

Here's what I really like about Proclaim: everything is saved online.  We're doing a song, we just use the same slides we did for a previous service which is already saved.  Need a hymn?  Their database has them all ready to go.  Doing a new song?  They probably have the words and CCLI information ready for you, all you need to do is adjust the lyrics and/or slide order to fit your worship set.  Whereas it may take several hours to make a power-point presentation, Proclaim lets you do an entire service is less than 20 minutes, from my experience.

Also, once you understand *how* they program Proclaim, most of the problems you run into have work-arounds.  For example, we use a screen at the front of the Sanctuary.  The lyrics to songs need to be big for people in the back to read.  On Powerpoint, you adjust the font size and it automatically makes new lines for you.  Whatever doesn't fit, you just cut and paste onto a new slide.  With Proclaim, all the lyrics are on one text window, and it take those lyrics and "fit" them into the default settings, which means the lyrics may come out REALLY small.  So how do you adjust the lyric font size when you can't adjust just one slide to make it work?  You have to adjust the "lyrics" box size for the entire song, and/or adjust the lyrics to 4-5 words per line, and then create blank lines in the lyrics section of Proclaim to make new slides,  and then you can mess with the lyrics font size (it does not automatically make a new line!).  It requires some finesse and understanding of how Proclaim works, but once you get that, it's pretty simple.

Can we get a reply from a professional technician at  LOGOS regarding these Sunday Morning server issues?  From these forum posts, I am seeing that if I am an isolated case, I am isolated with lots of friends!

Michael, please see my post above addressing regarding the server issues and our corresponding internal changes, which should have improved Sunday morning performance for you over the past couple of Sundays. If you are still experiencing difficulty, please provide more details and information. Thank you.

Our pastor had problems uploading his powerpoint this past Sunday (January 20th)  to proclaim (kept saying upload failed), but I will see how things go this Sunday and post on Monday morning.

Our problems have always occurred between 9:30-11:30 am Central time.

One more thing Michael, if you are encountering error messages or other difficulties, it is very helpful to us if you can post your log files, as described here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/39446.aspx
