I just upgraded to v5.... and I spent a ton of money doing it...

I have to say I am disappointed!

I tried the example from the promo video -- "Lord's Supper" in the topic guide.

First. when ever I type in anything, it refreshes as if is is hunting for stuff, but the result window is empty.

Second, there is no "Go" button to click.

Third, when I hit enter instead of clicking "Go" instead of running the query, it clears the topic entry and gives me nothing...

Please advise...

Hi Donald

Donald E. Shannon:

Presumably here you mean the drop-down window which appears underneath the text box where you are typing?

It all sounds as though Logos hasn't finished loading all your resources and indexing.

A few questions:

  • Are you running on Windows or Mac?
  • Which upgrade package did you go with?
  • Do you have a blue icon in the system tray (or Mac equivalent) which - if you hover over it - says Logos is indexing?

Wonder if indexing is complete ?

Concur, learned clicking topic item in Logos 5.0b Release Candidate 1 on OS X 10.8.2 starts searching so not need Go arrow:

While indexing was in progress, topic drop down list was unusable.  When indexing completed, could populate, then select from drop down list.

Hi Graham,

Environment: MAC

No Icon in top, no indication any indexing was still occurring.

but I think you are right about it not having loaded all the resources. all is well today.

I upgraded from v4-gold to v5-platinum

KS4J:

when I type in LORD, I do get that long list. But the purpose of context lookup is so you dont have to search through a long list to find the topic you are hunting.

When you type in Lord's shouldnt you get a context list that only contains words with Lord's in it??? such as:

Lord's supper

Lord's prayer

Lord's Day

I get nothing....

Dave:

Really...That's what you have to offer to this post?

Besides...which one of the posts actually contained any advice? My understanding advice is a suggestion to do something. I didn't see any suggestions.

Every one of the results in KS4J's screenshot did have "Lord" in it.

When I just tied typing in "Lord," it took about 30 seconds to populate the list (as in KS4J), but my system is currently indexing. When you finished typing "Lord's Supper," how long did you wait? Did you press enter (I did not)? Did you use quotes (I did not)?
