Does anyone know (maybe Rosie?) if Logos has anything by James Houston. if not, can someone recommend a couple of books (in Logos) that are comparable?

Hi Milkman,

I know him (he was one of my professors at Regent College) and would love to see more of his works in Logos.

The only full length work of his they have is:

The Psalms as Christian Worship: A Historical Commentary (co-authored by Houston's Regent colleague Bruce Waltke)

Articles by him within Logos resources:

"The Nature and Purpose of Spiritual Theology" in Evangelical Review of Theology, Volume 16 (1992) - only available as part of the WEA Theological Resource Library, Version 3, but that's a great deal at $45 for the whole collection!
"Spirituality" in Evangelical Dictionary of Theology.

For someone who has had such a massive influence on evangelicalism, reviving the long-lost study of spiritual theology almost single-handedly, that is way too little. I hope to see more of his work coming out in Logos in the future.

There isn't really any writer comparable to him in Logos, however it would be good to read some of the authors who have influenced him and whom he teaches about to others -- the spiritual giants of the faith such as St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, Soren Kierkegaard (I've been making some of his works available in PB; see here); the Cistercians such as Bernard of Clairvaux and Aelred of Rievaulx (Spiritual Friendship).
