Searching
lemma:יצא.1@V*, lemma:שׂמחה@n*
as a morph search in Logos 5 gives 49 results but they did'nt fit the words I was searching for.
What is my mistake?
My search question is: Are there other verses as in Isa 55,12, where יצא and שׂמחה
are together?
Hi Thomas - and welcome to the forums
Thomas Ehlert: lemma:יצא.1@V*, lemma:שׂמחה@n* as a morph search in Logos 5 gives 49 results but they did'nt fit the words I was searching for.
When I copy your search string and try and execute it I get no results at all!
Thomas Ehlert:What is my mistake?
I think the problem is the "comma" which I think you are using to denote "AND". The key here is the note in the article on Search (http://wiki.logos.com/Search_HELP)
eg. Jesus OR Lord; Jesus AND Lord; Jesus ANDNOT Lord
Note that substituting characters (comma, space, dash) may give incorrect results especially in Morph Search eg. @N @V works for AND, but @N, @V does not work and you must use @N OR @V.
Try removing the comma or replacing it with AND. When I do that I get
Hope this helps
Graham
Thanks so much for your help.
I read somehwere that you could narrow searches in Logos by comma, but I overlooked the article you quoted.
Thanks once again
Thomas
Hi Thomas
You are very welcome - glad to help
Thomas Ehlert: My search question is: Are there other verses as in Isa 55,12, where יצא and שׂמחה are together?
Found two more verses. Learned WIVU morphology is used in one Bible while older LLS morphology is used in three Bibles.
For searching, used a combination of AND plus OR with parenthetical grouping:
(<Lemma = lbs/he/יצא> AND <Lemma = lbs/he/שִׂמְחָה>) OR (<Lemma = wivu/he/יצא> AND <Lemma = wivu/he/שִׂמְחָה>) OR (<Lemma = lls/he/יצא> AND <Lemma = lls/he/שִׂמְחָה>)
Keep Smiling
