Never too old to learn, eh???

Peace and Great Joy in the Lord to my Logos Forums Brothers and Sisters!
Even though many years of my life are over and I'm probably a better person and more mature than I've ever been before .....
Even though my faith in our Gracious God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has grown over the years, and likely (as it should be!) my faith is as strong as it ever has been ......
YET,
I ruefully discover that I'm still making lots of mistakes in life, some of which are even sinful!
and that I have a lot more faith to Grow in still ahead of me ... and I WILL grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ ......
Those sinful mistakes I give to Jesus for Forgiveness and Healing! *smile*
The other ones mostly stupid mistakes -- of omission and no-mission ?? Well, sometimes I "kick myself around the block." *smile*
AND, yet ...
Now and again I do something right, like this morning .......... I did something right today! *smile* ... and I benefitted!
It was a really wonderful Joy this morning to phone up Logos and ask for a sales rep ...
99.5 % of all my Logos purchases are the automatic kind (I sorta hate to add to Logos' overhead, .... but ... so many of you on the Logos Forums are so happy about the sales reps ... )
SO, this morning I decided to call a Logos Sales Rep ............ I got Dave Kaplan ................. *smile*
What a wonderfully pleasant man! Surprisingly he actually saved me a few dollars on a smaller purchase .... Deep Exegesis The Mystery of Reading Scripture Peter J. Leithart BAYLOR UNIVERSITY PRESS Waco, Texas 76798 ... I was surprised!
How pleasant to deal with a sales rep ........ I will do so again ....
and Dave! Wow!
Deep Exegesis The Mystery of Reading Scripture Peter J. Leithart BAYLOR UNIVERSITY PRESS
Very helpful ... knowledgeable! I asked him where he grew up ......... Texas, he said!
I mentioned I've been purchasing Logos resources for 20 years this Spring .... He's been at Logos now himself almost 20 years ... Wow ... one of the originals, eh?
Then, he shared with me this 5 1/2 year old Logos Blog Link ...
If have a wee bit of time and if you'd like an additional smile in your life today, go over and take a peek! *smile*
No wonder I'm a Logos "fan," eh???

I thought you meant with the title the new hittite grammar in pre-pub.

Dave is a good man. I use him myself.
Mission: To serve God as He desires.

Peace, Niki! *smile* I've actually considered that pre-pub ........... However, I don't think my language skills permit me to get full value out of the offering, and likely there are not enough years of my life left for me to be able to accomplish better language skills in the time permitted me.Niko said:I thought you meant with the title the new hittite grammar in pre-pub.
My Greek is not too bad; my Hebrew is -- at the most -- adequate! But, I'd love to read about the Hittites!
I remember a few years ago when we couldn't tell so-called ethnic jokes any long; so we told "Hittite" jokes because they were extinct and couldn't complain anymore. *smile*

Are you that slow of a learner? I fully expect at least 25 more years—but then, you are older than I am [:D]
Thanks for the link http://blog.logos.com/2007/12/meet_dave_kaplan/ That was very entertaining

Jack, My Friend! *smile* I truly would rejoice at 25 more years since I have enough "studies" of various kinds lined up to fill those years!
And .......... I (and I'm confident you, too, Jack!!!) am excited and challenged by my daily living ...
"am gonna give that to the Lord, eh???
I still ride, Jack! *smile*

Good weather to ride too right now in Ontario!

It certainly is, Geo! *smile* Had a short ride yesterday, needed a new battery, so am now ready to go!
I didn't realise that you lived in Ontario ,, along with me and Bruce Dunning and Sleiman and others, of course .......... I'm in Oshawa (for my American Friends - on the North Shore of Lake Ontario across from upstate New York) East of Toronto.
Edit: I'm not sure where upstate New York ends and Western New York begins ... *smile*

Let me tell you what happens when you get old .......
You have what are called, "Seniors' Moments" ........... temporary amnesia, it's on the "tip of my tongue," or whatever .........
because I actually knew you were my neighbour in Mississauga and just plum forgot, eh??? *smile*

Perhaps this Fall it might be nice to have a single meeting to "test the waters" ....Geo Philips said:Perhaps it is time for an Ontario Logos Users Group!
Actually, I'm not too interested in a on-going group, but it would be nice to meet once ...
Steve is over near Chatham, and I'd love to meet him once ....

I'm from the South (US, that is). My ride is a Silverado—That's a pickup truck for the uninformed.

Sounds great, Jack! We'll put my Suzuki Burgman in the back of your Silverado, and off we go for coffee! *smile*
Working my way through school one job I had was on the assembly line, putting axles on pickups ... good memories ....

My uncle raised those when I was a teen, and my father tried that for a year or so. Don't believe I need one [:D]0 -

If you don't want a hog, you could get a rice burner.

Milford, do you see what you started? With apologies to our Asian friends, I only want North-American-built vehicles by a North-American-owned company.0 -
*smile* Jack! I truly respect you as a true-blue loyal American! A truly honourable man indeed!Jack Caviness said:

George! I truly appreciate your humour! *smile*
I'm going to postpone my "bridge decision" until after I receive my income tax refund from the Canadian Government! Thanks for helping me with the "bridge loan"! Very funny indeed!
They've hung on to my money now for several months; and I want it back!!!
Jack, that brings up an interesting change in my mind and my way of thinkiing! *smile*
For many years I've been a bit unhappy that the People of the United States have referred to themselves as Americans! Because, as you have mentioned my country is in North American also.
Now! Interestingly enough, eh??? I don't mind that at all! Not at all! Also, I myself refer to the people living South of the Southern Canadian Border as Americans! I don't know why my attitude has changed; however changed it has!!!
So you, Jack, and George are Americans; and this Canadian respects those who are loyal to their country! To me that is proper and honourable!
