I have Logos 4 running on a 13" MacBook Pro .2.8ghz I7. I have owned L4 since the beta stage in 2010. While the resources are vast the application has been layered with bugs and has always run slow. So much so that I stopped using it for a very long time. I was very disappointed with the purchase at that time since much of my experience was beach balls and crashes.
I just recently reinstalled it on the Mac listed above and it seems to be doing much better. still some lulls here and there but overall much better. (Kind of what I had hoped for when I bought it) Now I find that Logos has already moved to a newer version. I have a few questions.
First do I have to pay for the upgrade? I remember when transitioning from Logos 1 for Mac (Libronix) to Logos 4 that it was stated the engine was always free. I don't really need more resources (have Leader's Library) Can I just install the engine and transfer my books?
Next I remember when Logos 4 first came out some of us where disappointed that Logos for Mac (Libronix was never really brought to parity with Windows before it was discontinued. Again when Logos 4 for Mac came out it took a considerable amount of time before it gained parity with Windows. So for Mac users is this upgrade worth it? Are there a ton of bugs and should I stick with 4 for a while longer or will the performance be on par with what I am getting with L4 now?
