Does anyone use the galaxy tablet running this Logos App?

Do you have problems?

I don't have a tablet but I am thinking of getting one. So I wanted to see how it is working for others.

I'm using the Galaxy Tab 7.7 Amoled plus running logos, no any problems, the screen very nice.

I have the Toshiba Thrive and Logos 5 works fine.  I have never had a problem on my tablet and I have quite a bit loaded.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. No problems with running the "Bible", "Faithlife", or "Vyrso" apps. The only issue I face is the low 8GB storage space. If you get an Android tablet, ensure that it has at least 16GB.

I have the newer Galaxy 8.0 Note and Logos runs great on it.

It has the 16GB and Erwin mentions, but I only physically download to the device the books I plan to read offline.

I just got Galaxy Note 8 last week. I am still learning how to use. It runs logos real good' The reviews complain about it not being 1080p. I was concerned also. However the screen looks great to me.The speed is fast and efficient. I would recommend it,

My family purchased the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 32GB and it runds Logos great. I downloaded the resources I use most often, along with what I am reading. Use it pretty much anywhere. Only thing I wish is that they have a better way of taking notes. I really like that i can expand my tablet with a MicroSD.

Forgive me if this is bad forum etiquette,  This was almost the exact question I came to the forum to have answered.  I have a followup question.  My laptop may have just died, and I'm thinking about replacing with a tablet.  My wife has a laptop that I could still have access to, but I would primarily be doing my work (sermon and lesson prep, and currently a Hebrew class) on the tablet.

My question is do you think a tablet would be enough or would I be frustrated with the limitations.  (I would get a keyboard to work with it)   Thanks

Hi Jeremy - and welcome to the forums.

To do the tasks you describe I think you would find the current mobile apps too limited so this - in my view - would rule out an iPad or Android tablet- based solution.

You can get the Microsoft Surface Pro which can run the full version Windows and Logos products and there are some discussions of this on the forums.

Basically, I think you need the full function Logos software, and you need to find a hardware product which supports this with a footprint you are a happy with.

It should run great. I have a Galaxy S4 which runs the same Touchwiz overlaid on top of Android 4.2.2 like the tabs.

But let me suggest a better less expensive option. The Google Nexus tablets are IMO a much better option. They are cheaper and run the very latest version of Android, currently 4.3. The Nexus 7 is the perfect size for carrying around. Feels like a small pad of paper. Put a Poetic SlimLine case on it and it feels a lot like carrying a smallish Bible.

The Nexus 10 is also a great device if you really prefer a much larger tablet. Both of the Nexus tablets offer a much better screen resolution than the Samsung's which means incredibly clear text.

The only reason to choose a Samsung tablet over the Nexus is if you want to use a tablet with a great stylus like the Note 8 or Note 10. However, the stylus won't let you ink in Logos until the company adds writing into their app, something I really hope they do but don't expect any time soon.

Having previously owned an iPad2 (with an external keyboard) and now owning a Surface Pro, I fully concur with Graham's advice.

Hey Kevin, I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 - they now run Jelly Bean - and although on the high end price wise (especially if you get the 32 GB) you won't be disappointed. I also like some apps will allow split screen (i.e. like Logos) so I can have the app open on one side and my note app on the other that I can scribble on. MyScript is a nice app for taking notes that does recognition to take my chicken scratch and make it nice and need. Unfortunately it doesn't have the ability to split screen but I have been talking with the developers to try and encourage it.

I still like the Samsung Galaxy Note over anything I have seen to date. Plust the 2014 models are coming out and will be a bit lighter, although I don't think they are that heavy (at least to carrying my laptop into church Stick out tongue).

In Christ,

Ken

Thanks all I was really looking at the Galaxy Tab 2, or Galaxy Note 8.0

But my brother in-law sent me a Sky Vega IM-T100K, it has 16GB internal, 32GB microSD, it has a document viewer program that is working very good, so I can take Logos with me and have almost all books downloaded. It views my e-books which is really why I was looking into the tablets.

So I am very happy.
