There a whole lot of new theological journals from Galaxie on the FTP site. Anybody heard of a new collection out?
Dominick,
Thanks for the tip. My index rebuild completed and the indexer is not re-starting and crashing like before, so I assume all is well. If it happens again I will definitely give your tip a try.
Bill
The rebuild of my index has resolved the problem of not seeing the 'heading' search field tag in the information panel for the Ashland, Ref & Revival, and Faith & Mission Journals. Despite the journals having been added according to the 'correct' procedure (downloading to a directory, issuing a scan command, seeing L4.0a copy the journal files into its resource directory, restarting L4 and seeing it index the new files) it was not until I did a complete index rebuild that the new 'heading' tags were visible as search fields. I do not understand why this was necessary but the rebuild has solved the problem
Mark,
Glad it worked. My index rebuild appears to have solved my issue too.
I loaded them into L3 and synced them. They appear just as I expected. However, I have had no success with L4 recognizing them at all. Any suggestions???
First, you need to make sure all your L3 licences are synced to the Logos servers. Then start up L4 and in the L4 command box type "scan" and then the path to your L3 resource directory. Then close L4 and restart it. When it restarts it will scan the L3 directory and find any resources it currently does not have.
1. I re-sync'ed L3.
2. I put the following in my command line for L4: scan C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources
3. Re-started the program.
4. Galaxy Vol. 12 resources still do not appear in L4 (but they do in L3).
???
Dennis,
It sound's like you did everything correctly. Just out of curiosity, try typing "Tyndale Bulletin" in your Library command box. This is totally new resource in the TJL and if it is not in your library something is definitely wrong.
Oops!
Never mind! L3 put the GS files in an unexpected place. Moving them to the place where the rest of the L3 files resided did the trick.
Thanks!
I installed both cd's and the new journals are now in my L4- but as L3 file extensions(.LLS).
The CD only has L3 files and the Galaxia site is L3 files as well. Perhaps, will place L4 on their server and we will get an update that way.
Correct they have not changed over any of the journals to L4 files yet- but still work in L4.
Okay, I bought the Theological Journal Library (Volume 12) for the first time, based on recommendations here. Not disappointed: there's some good stuff here.
Haven't read the whole thing yet, but the articles in JETS (Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society) provide good food for thought. Examples:
Logos has it on back order: http://www.logos.com/products/details/5908. (I bought it from Rejoice as they charged no postage.)
