Logos 5.1 Crashes when opening in Windows 8.1

Starting in the last couple days Logos will not run in Windows 8.1, it ran fine for a week or more so I think it is related to the latest Logos upgrade. It runs fine on my desktop running Windows 8.0. The program tries to open but cannot complete the process, the error message I get says Logos Bible Software 5 has stopped working.

Hi Michael - thanks for posting.

We will need Logos to comment on whether they have got Logos 5.1 stable release on Windows 8.1 beta.

In the meantime, it looks (from your logs) as though you are opening Logos to a defined layout.

Are you able to try opening it to a blank screen (hold Ctrl as you click the Logos icon and select that option from the dialog box)?

It would be interesting to see if that allows you to get Logos running.

I recommend trying this approach (and then avoid opening the Topic Guide).

As I posted here (http://community.logos.com/forums/p/72236/503082.aspx#503082), Windows 8.1 Preview is not fully supported by Logos 5 at this time. We will be fixing any incompatibilities we find in the next beta, with the goal of fully supporting Windows 8.1 by the time it ships.

I need to add mine to the list of logos crashes. Have tried opening normally and with the control key. I think it is related to the latest build of windows 8.1 (9431) as it worked on the previous build of windows 8.1 just fine.

Some fixes for Windows 8.1 Preview have already been shipped in Logos 5.1 SR-1. If you can't update automatically (because Logos is crashing), please download it directly here: http://www.logos.com/installation

Then if you're still having problems, please post some log files to help us identify the cause of the crash.
