I was really excited about the possibility of Logos Mobile Education, but it looks like it is going to be cost prohibitive for me.  I am a work-from-home-mom freelance writer and speaker.  I would love to add to my biblical knowledge, but don't have the financial or time resources needed for a formal degree program.  We are also in the process of adopting from Ethiopia, so all our extra money is going to that right now.

I have read multiple times in these threads about free on-line Bible classes.  I did some searching and was overwhelmed by the amount of sites offering classes, but have no idea what is good and what isn't.  Can anyone recommend programs to look at?  If you can't post them here, can you private message me?

Thank you so much!

PS - If this isn't appropriate for this forum, please let me know and I will delete.

Heather, there is no way for us to PM you on the Logos forums. You'll need to post some way of contacting you (disguise your email address somehow so spambots don't pick it up if you decide to post that here).

In the meantime, you can listen to free courses from Regent College (a very excellent interdenominational graduate school in Christian Studies in Vancouver, BC) on http://www.regentradio.net/ - they cycle through each day's lecture three times in a 24-hour period so you can listen at a time that's convenient in your timezone. You can check out the schedule of upcoming courses ahead of time at http://www.regentradio.net/schedule.php.

You can recommend that someone send you a message via faithlife message.

Can't you only message someone on faithlife if they're in the same group with you? I've tried out faithlife a bit but haven't used it much so I might be wrong on this.

Just tried to send her a message and her name is not coming up. You may be right.

They are not free but you might give the audio lectures at audible a try: http://www.audible.com/mt/TheGreatCourses/

Biblical training (http://www.biblicaltraining.org/) offer many excellent classes for free. It's an initiative headed by the well-known Greek scholar Bill Mounce and many of the lecturers are well known too.

Also, Covenant Theological Seminary offer many of their courses for free (http://www.covenantseminary.edu/resources/).

I agree with Simon...Biblical Training.org is a great resource!  Also check out a Ligonier Connect. (connect.ligonier.org) Only $9.00 per month for unlimited access to at least 45 courses...conservative reformed with noted theologian Dr. R.C. Sproul and others. Nice audio downloads and pdf workbooks plus online videos.  Well worth the money!

ITunes University has a lot of seminary course lectures available for free. e.g. I'm currently going through Darrell Bock's New Testament Introduction class from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Liberty University offers several Bible degrees (both undergrad and masters) fully online and for a good price too! The discounted block pricing they offer for seminary degrees is extremely affordable. They are conservative, so it's not a good choice for everyone, but they are a regionally accredited private university.

Indeed. I have particularly benefited from and enjoyed Dr. Calhoun's Church History, Dr. Doriani on the Epistles & Life of Jesus, and Dr. Bayer on Life of Paul.

I'm not Pam, but you have to download the iTunes app first (for Mac or Windows) from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/‎, install it, and then run it. Inside the iTunes app, go to the Apple Store home page (click Store, then Home):

Once there, you will find an iTunes U menu item:

That's where you will find all the goodies:

You can search for a particular seminary in the search box:

Or you can browse by topic under Religion & Spirituality from the iTunes U dropdown menu (click the triangle at the right of the button to drop down the menu; otherwise it just goes back to the iTunes U home page):

This will bring you to the page that really has all the goodies!

Have fun!
