Does anyone know whether will Logos 5 be ready for OS X Mavericks? I am planning to upgrade my Mac to Mavericks once it is out but worry that my Logos 5 will not work with it.

Your "readiness" Q also applies to Windows 8.1 and the answer would also apply to Mavericks.

While Mountain Lion (10.8) was in beta, several users reported problems with Logos compatibility, but I believe these had all been fixed when ML was official released by Apple. I would assume the same thing will happen with Maverick. Personally, I usually wait a few weeks before jumping to a new OS. I'm only a reckless early adopter with Logos betas Big Smile

I upgraded to Mountain Lion the first day that it was out and Logos 4 (which was the version that was out at the time) worked just fine with the operating system.  I forget where, but I did check for compatibility before making the upgrade.

Thanks! Guess it is better for me to wait a little after Mavericks is out.

Perhaps… You can also follow the forums in the days leading up to the release. Every year,  Mac users (like me Smile) are very interested to know about compatibility and there are normally quite a few threads about it. At this point, it is too early to have any real idea from Logos.

My suggestion? If you only have one computer, I would wait and let others (like me) be the guinea pigs [test it out for you], especially if you need Logos for work or school.

Big Smile I only have one computer for both work and studies. I better not risk it and will wait for it.

It's running fine now except that when you first install it won't shut down fully without a force quit. But after an update it seems to fix itself.

No... but there are a number of users who are either developers, or part of Apple's Apple Seed program (I wish I were Smile).

My friend and I also are facing the same issue in our Mountain Lion OS. Probably is not only a bug in Mavericks.

Logos 5 (and 4) has never shut down without a Force Quit anyway so this will not be a problem for me.

Btw, I think Logos should at least put something on their support page (or even their home page) when major software upgrades come out (whether Windows or Mac) alerting users to its compatibility and any known issues. For the money I've spent on the 3500+ volumes in my library, I don't think that's asking too much. I shouldn't have to go poking around on the forums for answers.

According to Roaring Apps (http://roaringapps.com/apps), Logos is not yet compatible with Mavericks. I do not know if this means Logos simply hasn't reported compatibility or if it truly isn't. Based on previous posts on this thread it is working for some. Since I use Logos almost every day, I guess I'll have to wait for Logos to let us know before I can upgrade, although I think Logos should have been more communicative about this.

Logos wouldn't let me post my last comment (i'm not sure why). According to Roaring Apps, Logos is not compatible with Mavericks. Some on here have said that it is working on Mavericks so I don't know if Logos simply didn't report or if it doesn't work for everyone. Either way, Logos could have done a better job communicating on this.

I've had no crashing or feature issues running Logos under Mavericks. Earlier on there was some trouble when exiting Logos but that has since been fixed. Performance, however, has been worse in my experience - scrolling in Logos under ML was fairly smooth while in Mavericks it's back to being pretty jumpy on my end.

I might sit this out until tomorrow. Not because of an OS problem, but because the servers usually get swamped.
