I saw this today

http://blog.logos.com/2014/01/how-to-complete-your-commentary-sets/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LogosBibleSoftwareBlog+%28Logos+Bible+Software+Blog%29

and I am wondering what its all about.  I have the NAB and do not think I am missing any volumes.

When I look at today it suggests I can pay $16.66 but doesn't tell me which (if any) volume I don't.

What am I missing please?  Is this feature not working properly yet please?

Thanks.

(addendum:  I just went and looked and realized I was missing Revelation...dumbfounded.  I wondered why they didn't give it to me for free when I first bought it or it became available?)

Dynamic pricing does seem to be working for you then. It is great that it shows you are missing something but I wish that is would tell you what you are missing.

The answer/excuse is because it was still in prepub, which it doesn't really make sense, because when Logos 4 came out there were a few resources that were still in prepub and they were still offered as part of a package and there was a note that stated: "License included with purchase - content will download as soon as it's made available" or something along those lines.  But anyway, must be a "publisher's rule" or something along those lines. Wink

I paid the money and got my missing Revelation commentary.  I never noticed it was missing during the initial download either.

LOGOS did not tell me electronically it was missing either or that I would need to pay for the missing volume when it became available.

I do feel a little cheated.  Oh well.  At least I still have my student pricing which enables me to purchase some items discounted occasionally.

I wouldn't feel cheated.  In fact, I don't feel cheated.  I bought the WBC and found that it indicated the I could get it for $50 so I figured I was missing a volume and called sales.  It turned out that I was missing 3 volumes so it wasn't a bad deal at all.  When you buy a package of resources you get what is listed in the package.  Anything released after that is extra though I have seen them add resources to a package which is still in pre-pub at no charge to those who already subscribed (the price went up for those who hadn't yet subscribed).  Calling sales was a good idea since I got a special on an package I had on my wish list !  Call in and you might get a special (not guaranteed).

I think they are working on that and it will be available soon... Of course December's free book is coming soon too according to their free book of the month page.

I think this is a good answer and is a fair policy as well. For example with December's recent Mega Pack some people were upset that they didn't receive the listed books. If it not listed, then I would suggest we shouldn't be that upset about it. Life's too short Big Smile...Just my two pence.

If you had initially noticed that they weren't part of the set, would you have thought twice before making the purchase?

Will you feel cheated again when Logos get around to releasing the two Psalms' volumes, and First Corinthians, and Ephesians?

We're getting a discount anyway, to purchase the Revelation volume as a standalone you'd pay $26.95, as part of Logos' offer you only pay $16.66.  I'd say that was a pretty good deal for a book that was never part of the original package.

Yes!!!!  It is not very helpful as is.  I have to sort through a 40 plus volume commentary and try to figure out which volume I am missing.  That would be fine if I had nothing to do.  I would try to complete my sets, but I will just have to wait until I have nothing more important to do - maybe in a year or two.

Even worse, it is very inaccurate.  It frequently says that I do not have something I have already purchased and is in my library.  So it doesn't tell you what you are missing, and it is often inaccurate.  Now that is the way to do business!

Perhaps if I don't know that I am missing it, I really don't need it.

I don't like the fact that logos still does not recognize my purchase of their products through third party suppliers. This really goofs up dynamic pricing for me and I know that I have paid for several items more than once.

Actually Logos does (sometimes) acknowledges products you bought with third parties.  MacArthur's Library 2.0 had a Xmas discount and dynamic pricing for me and so does Nelson's Reference Bundle, but on the big bundle, I'm going to have to wait.  So it all depends, sometimes Logos is consistent with dynamic pricing and sometimes is not, I guess it's a glitch on their website or something.

For example, I own the 21 irrefutable laws of leadership but it does not show that I own it on the vyrso page.

I bought a John MacArthur life works library that Logos refuses to acknowledge that I purchased. They are unlocked and useable but it is very confusing and time consuming when I look at buying his books on logos.com.

You should call sales and speak to some other sales rep (assuming you already spoke to someone else).  I'm sure they'd help you.  I remember I had bought the Preacher's Commentary from a third party and a sales rep was more than willing to acknowledge I had bought it and offered me a good discount on another bundle that included the Preacher's Commentary.  Unfortunately, back then, I didn't have the money to buy it, but I can always call and get credit when I'm ready.

I have the life works library also, but am wondering your method for determining they are not being included in dynamic pricing? Would like to reproduce your efforts and find out if I am experiencing the same "glitch" or if its unique to your situation :)

I wouldn't feel cheated. The rest of us paid $19.95 for the Revelation commentary last year when it was on Pre-Pub. If I had known, I would have waited for the dynamic pricing.

I hadn't realized this was a frequent problem but hopefully Logos will fix it. Some dynamic pricing is better than nothing I suppose.

I totally agree!!! For me, it's a good reminder to enjoy what I already have in my library.

All the best.
