Hi Jerry,

Here is a how I have mine categorized. i did put the single volume and study bibles together. I think it wold help to pick a common passage, such as Rom 8.28 and do a comparison for yourself. I hope this gives you some ideas:

You can get quite good of sorting on the BestCommentaries.com. They have a code at each item. There is much information there on the series and individual commentaries.

Exegetical may even be a better place for CCNt. Pulpit is somewhat homeletical... I think you should tweak my classifications to suite how you want to access these resources in your studies..and you can duplicate commentaries into several collections if you wish.

First of all let me say thanks for ALL of the help you guys have giving in this post to my question. One more question I have went in and added all the steps giving to set up my collection and you know its always that one problem that won't let you complete you task. I've put all of my commentary series in but this one series will not show up at all it is the works of John Bunyan. How can I put this series in to one of the collection I've made?

Hi Jerry,

those resources are not commentaries and are not tagged by bible verse. As such they will not work as commentaries in the passage guide, if that is what you are asking. If you go to the library and sort by type, only those identified as Bible Commentaries will work as such in the passage guide.

Hmmm....it works for me. I opened a collection of technical commentaries I created and was able to add Bunyan Works using the rule modification I posted:

As John said, Bunyan's works are not versified and will not function like the versified commentaries already in this collection. But as you can see, they can definitely be added. If you're sure that your "Rule" is written correctly, I wonder if your not being able to add it is related to the Mac alpha....
