I'm experiencing this same issue in Logos 5 (5.2 SR-4): http://community.logos.com/forums/p/17925/134800.aspx#134800

The copy/paste feature for the LHI is just great.  It shows the glosses and parsing just fine.

However, it reverses the word order when pasted.  The picture in the previous post shows the situation perfectly.

Is there anyway to achieve the same thing but with the correct word order?

I don't know if that would do it but I know that Word has RTL (right to left) support as an option (look it up in the help file). Secondly, you can indicate the language of a document, so perhaps setting it as Hebrew in Word might help keep the proper orientation?

I suspect this is because you are using an interlinear.  I imagine the L—>R order of the English overrides the R—>L order of the Hebrew.  Try using a valid Hebrew bible such as AFAT, BHS 4.2 or BHW 4.18.

Thanks George, but not really what I'm looking for.  A want to have the parsing and gloss available in the word doc.  I can't find a way to do that with AFAT and friends.

Oddly, the interlinear is in the correct Hebrew order.  It's on the paste that it reverses.

Hey Francis,  Good ideas.  I tried them all, but no go.

I switched the language of the paragraph and I switched the keyboard to Hebrew.  However, that didn't have any effect.  I cannot find a word order option for the Mac version of Word.  I see it in the online help for the Windows version, but RTL isn't on the Mac version.

I also tried pasting into Pages.  However, none of the gloss and parsing features come with it.

Logos went to a lot of trouble to get that paste to look good in Word.  Too bad the words are left-to-right.

What is your Paste option? Word 2013 (PC) has "Keep source formatting" for Pasting from other programs and handles LHI perfectly.

Hey Dave, that was a pretty funny experiment.

On Word, with Hebrew text in the clipboard, "Paste and Match Style" pops up the paste options box so I tried them all:

As HTML and default, you get all the goodies with the words backwards.

With RTF the words are in the correct order, but no goodies.

With unformatted and 'styled' the words no goodies, but the words are backwards.

Dave is correct.  Mac Word does not support Hebrew or Arabic right to left copy and paste.  I recommend using another word processor for the Mac that does support right to left copy and paste.  Mellel Mac is one such program.  Mellel can be download from:  http://mellel.en.softonic.com/mac

Instead of cut and paste, have you tried to print to a Word document? I don't know whether it would work any better but it's something to try.

I tried from the Lexham Interlinear Hebrew and used the context menu copy function for a text selection and it pasted fine into Word. I am using Windows though.

Hey Charles, Hmmm, it seems Word is lacking in that. Interestingly, tho, it DOES paste in the correct order if I use Rich Text or from another source. So the problem is a little more involved, since it works some ways but not others.

Hey Francis,

Good ideas.  So I tried the export features.

When sending to a word document or rich text (an open one, or create new), it copied the words in the correct order.  However, it didn't include the glosses or parsing.

When saving as a PDF, it looks just like the on screen version.  That is, correct ordering with parsing and glosses.

So word order works great except in one case: paste in word with parsing and glosses.

hmmm....

Does anyone know if this problem disappears if one is running Windows (via Bootcamp) on a Mac?

Problem with LHI is fixed on Windows with Logos 6 (in Office 2013). I doubt it will be fixed in Logos 5 as it is not a "critical" problem

I am in the situation of preparing to buy a new laptop, but have a frequently need to cut-paste Hebrew into Word and Powerpoint. I am curious if anyone who is running Windows (dualboot) on a Macbook has had the same problems as those working in OSX. This less a question about a problem in Logos, as about making a decision about which machine and OS will next be running Logos.

Your question would have a wider audience in the General, or Logos 6, forum.

There is a free online word processor at calmlywriter.com (you have to use google chrome). If you copy and paste the Hebrew text in this processor, it will retain its right to left orientation. You can also go to "Save" and download the file as a .doc and it will open in Word with the right to left orientation. I have done this with a mac.
