If the application crashes, please make sure you are running iPhone OS 3.1.2 (or newer). There are bugs in iPhone OS 3.0 that can cause problems with Logos 1.2. Also, be sure to sync your device with iTunes so we can get the crash reports that help us diagnose problems. Thanks!
Dave, I don't know if this might help but I managed to create a consistent crash scenario (at least consistent on my two devices ).
1. Download "An Introduction to Aramaic, Second Edition" to device.
2. After downloading completely, open book, use navigation bar to navigate to Chapter 28 of the book (drag bar until you come to Chapter 28, and let loose you finger to get there).
3. Then drag the navigation bar slider slowly to the beginning of the book (beginning of the bar), the app would crash at some point when you're pulling the slider towards the left end of the bar.
4. Thereafter the app crashes every time after launch (about 5 seconds after loading all items in "Home" page).
I'm performing a sync right now and so you should be getting a core dump of it soon.
Thanks for the report. Is this with version 1.2.0 or 1.2.1?
I just checked and this was 1.2.1 (34080). It kept crashing and I kept reinstalling tonight so it's got to be the latest release.
By the way, do you want a Beta tester for your next Beta?
I just downloaded the latest release today and it is crashing constantly. I have the latest version of my iPhone software. So I am now syncing with itunes so you can get crash report.

Hey Amy, don't you feel like you have been Alpha testing lately? I do.
Edwin
This morning, the app kept crashing shortly after starting downloading a book. It makes no difference whether I'm in the book description page, library page or reading a book. Hmm, this is very curious indeed. Is it a server issue? Why was I able to download the "Introduction to Aramaic" last night?
My iPhone is running OS3.1.2. My Logos is 1.2.1 (34080). Every time I tried to download the books, it quitted.
This might explain the recent problems. Don't worry Dave. We'll wait. Apple will hopefully get your fix out really fast - my prayer anyway.
Dear Dave,
Thanks for the new update, it seems to have fixed the crashes on download.
The "An Introduction to Aramaic" crashes are still there though. I think that the crash is triggered ?by backwards navigation from the beginning of a book sub-section. The crash was present in 1.2.0, 1.2.1 and now 1.2.2.
To reproduce the crash, download the "An Introduction to Aramaic", after complete download, use the navigation bar to go to Chapter 28 (this seem to be one of the "beginning of section" of a "subsection" of the book). Then scroll backward one page and the app will crash promptly. The app will not open again (crashes 5 seconds after loading "home" page). I tried the following measures at this point, but they didn't seem to help and I had to remove and reinstall the app to have a working app again.
1. Rebooting the device 2. Resetting the page pointer by navigating to another page on the website (library.logos com) (I don't have Logos in my office computer here).
I wonder if it is possible to have an option to reset the app (something like the reset switch in the settings for the BibleReader app), so that a crash like this woudn't render the app unusable?
Regards, Amy
Since there is a delay in getting crash logs from Apple, I'll post the instructions for retrieving crash logs from a PC and Mac. If you experience a crash and would like to provide a crash log to help us debug it, please follow the instructions below and send the crash log to iphone@logos.com. The application name is Logos.
When the application you’re testing crashes, iPhone OS creates a record of that event. The next time you connect your device to iTunes, iTunes downloads those records (known as crash logs) to your computer. To help get the problem fixed, you should send crash logs of the application you’re testing to its developer.
To send crash logs to developers:
In the Finder, open a new window.
Choose Go > Go to Folder.
Enter ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice.
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice
Open the folder named after your device’s name.
Select the crash logs named after the application you’re testing.
Choose Finder > Services > Mail > Send File.
In the New Message window, enter the developer’s email address in the To field and <application_name> crash logs from <your_name> (for example, MyTestApp crash logs from Anna Haro) in the Subject field.
<application_name> crash logs from <your_name>
MyTestApp crash logs from Anna Haro
Choose Message > Send.
In the Finder, you may delete the crash logs you sent to avoid sending duplicate reports later.
To send crash logs to developers, enter the crash log directory (Listing 9-1 and Listing 9-2) in the Windows search field, replacing <user_name> with your Windows user name.
<user_name>
Listing 9-1 Crash log storage on Windows Vista
C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/MobileDevice
Listing 9-2 Crash log storage on Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\<user_name>\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter
Open the folder named after your device’s name and send the crash logs for the application you’re testing in an email message using the subject-text format <application_name> crash logs from <your_name> (for example, MyTestApp crash logs from Anna Haro) to the application’s developer.
