Base package prices

Note that Catholics and Verbum have been put in their own category. Ask Logos why.

Oops the Anglicans don't have a portfolio - sorry.

And yes there is a bug in the dynamic price in packages where you already own all the resources.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Very interesting comparison.  Thank you.

The Verbum Scripture Study for $934.95 is missing...  (it fits in the empty box between foundations and master).

MJ I'm not anglican but your chart shows Anglicans have Diamond and even Portfolio.  On the page that shows their base packages they only seem to go up to Diamond, so I don't know - who's right? Reformed only goes up to Platinum.

Oh, and catholics seem to be the odd cheese in the macaroni since they go by different names (e.g. basic, foundations, etc.) where as the others go inline with the original base packages (e.g. bronze, silver, gold, etc.). hmmm? [^o)] [:P]

But wait, isn't "Basic" synonymous with "Foundations" since you're pretty much trying to get someone started with the basics/foundations of the Bible? [8-|]

Lutherans do have starter, bronze, silver etc. too - same price as the others. Would be nice having something between starter and bronze.

But anyway - it's great that Logos begins to publish denominational Packages. However all who like Church History original docs (Church Fathers etc.) might be interested in Verbum basic.

The gap is too thin to have something in between starter and bronze.  Look at what they did with the gap between Platinum and Portfolio.  I think they still didn't get it right and I still think they could do better.  I think they should do a "Wild Card BP" where it can cost the same as any given package but have total different resources.  Or do something like "Build your own BP" and have us build it with our own commentaries, etc. at the standard BP price (e.g. NICOT/NT could be included in Platinum along with BECNT and PNTC) and Portfolio could include AYBC along with any other commentary you wish to add like ICC, EEC, etc. Just a thought

I had noted my error re: Anglican portfolio in my post.

When I made the chart Lutheran base packages were not yet announced and gold was the only page I found.

Thanks for the missing Scripture study price.

I'd like to predict that the Orthodox package is next up ... but I'm not certain there are enough resources yet to make solid packages.

My money's on Pentecostal/Charismatic. I think there's too much Orthodox stuff in PrePub to launch that yet. The only difficulty with Pentecost/Charismatic is that most of their distinctive writings would be after 1923, and therefore not public domain. That would make it harder to get good value.

This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

We do not know how many Orthodox works have been finalised while (or even before) hitting prepub, it is surprising how many Anglican works have just appeared out of thin air for that package, the same for the Lutheran one.

I believe the Pentecostal Product Manager left. That sounds like another difficulty.

    I would love a Pentecostal/Charismatic base package.

I did hear of a  Baptist package in works, but who knows.

Logos is trying to hire a Baptist product manager and then they are planning to roll out a Baptist package.

Its too bad they need a product manager IN bellingham, instead of a remote employee.

I'd be in for the Baptist base package.

As pointed out in another thread if you go to www.logos.com/baptist it redirects you to the standard base packages [;)]

Edit: I agree there is a need for a baptist base package, along with Charismatic/Pentecostal and Orthodox packages.

What about an Anabaptist base package? I know we're even further away from having enough materials, but I'd love to see more momentum in that direction.

I agree with MJ that the next package will be Orthodox. Mainly because there are no product managers for Baptist, Pentecostal, or Wesleyan. It seems to me there are plenty of Orthodox works in the pipeline for a couple packages.

I look forward to SDA Silver and any other packages Logos can come up with. (Yes, I have the Noet Classical Foundations Bundle.)

I would also be glad to see more momentum in that direction.  Perhaps an Anabaptist base package would help to push more Anabaptist resources into production.
