How will PBBs be converted for use in L4?

I know that the PBB functionality for L4 is a ways off yet. Can the
Logos staff tell us as much as they can about how the process will work
in L4? I have stopped creating PBBs for L3 temporarily out of a concern
that the conversion process for L4 will require a lot of work. Is this
so? For example, will resources have to be retagged, etc? I would like
to keep creating PBBs for L3 now if the conversion process for L4 will
be relatively painless.

We're still figuring out how PBB will work in 4.0, but if you use Microsoft Word for most of your work, things should convert easily.

    Bob,

Thank you for responding to my message personally and Happy New Year to you!

Some feedback to take back to your team about creating PBBs for L4 -- First, I have about 50 or so books that I have created as PBBs for L3, all of which are not commercially available in Logos format. I have the orginally tagged .htm and .html files that I hope would be compatible with the PBB tool for L4. I really hope that the tool you build will be able to take these source files and convert them to L4 format without having to redo all the work of tagging them.

When you get closer to releasing a beta of the new PBB tool, please contact me and I will help you test it out.

Second, it would be helpful if the new PBB tool would be like the Builder Builder application that John McComb created for making PBBs. That tool is basically a GUI tool for tagging the files, which is important for a non-programmer like me.

Third, it would be helpful if you could release a style guide of some sort for use by us "arm chair" PBB creators. I know the broader Logos community would like it if all PBBs conformed to the same style rules as for the commercially available resources. I know that my PBBs depart from the standard Logos style at points. I also know that some of the PBBs that I have downloaded (and subsequently uninstalled) had wild backgrounds and bold type for the fonts which make them too difficult to read. Perhaps this style guide could be built right in to the PBB creation tool itself.

    Thanks for listening.

FYI: I rarely use MSWord for the base - it generates ugly HTML, and HTML or XML is what I need for my primary source documents.
