I love the ability to right click and do a lemma search within a given bible. What I would like to do though is limit the search not to "search this resource" but to "search Romans" for example or any given parameter I want. I know how to change the search parameter in the search window after I do a right click search but I would like to be able to do this from the right click menu or if that is not possible to be able to tell Logos that when it opens my search window that it defaults to the parameters I want.

For example if I am working through a given text and want to do a series of lemma searches within a given chapter or book I don't want the hassle of each time having to then change my search parameters after the fact.

To be a bit more specific, If I do a right click 'root' search and then 'search this resource' and then within the search window change the search parameter to a given book, all consecutive right click 'root' searches under 'search this resource' will default to my earlier parameter. Not so with right click 'lemma' and then 'search this resource'.

Hi Lee

Thanks for the more detailed information

I agree that it would be good if the lemma search operated in the same way as root.

This does seem like an oversight from Logos. Hopefully someone will see this thread and comment

I can reproduce this, and I will create a case for Development to investigate. Smile

This should be fixed in 5.2b Beta 6.

To clarify: the original request has not been implemented. Instead, Root Search has been brought into conformance with the behaviour of Lemma Search, which is by design.

Why not have an additional option in the  right click menu to 'search this book' then? That would be helpful.

Have you tried doing this using an "inline search"?

Once you have the parameters set up they will be maintained

Never heard of it. What's an 'inline search'? Could you point me in the right direction.

The right direction is L6

Edit: Thread announcing the new feature: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/92745.aspx

Afaik, inline search is part of the free 6 Engine now: https://www.logos.com/product/46767/logos-6-core-engine

What I do find helpful is that if I do a right click search on 'this resource' and then change the search window to display the parameters I want (such as "Ephesians" instead of "All Passages") and then change that search window to 'Send searches here' then all subsequent right click searches (lemma or root) will retain the earlier parameters.
