Last Hope: Pics showing the 7 churches (Rev 2-3).
Greetings,
I've been searching high and low for the following:
- High Resolution images of the cities wherein 7 Churches are mentioned in Rev. Chapters 2-3.
- The images must not be of ruins/archeology, must be images showing each of the 7 churches at the height of their power.
- All I have found are very small black and white pictures and only of 1 city: Ephesus.
- I have nothing but archeological shots in my logos library.
...so ....help!?!
Thanks,
Preston
p.s. I did find one pic that comes close to what i'm looking for ...

I doubt that anything other than creative recreated images exist. You might look at http://duryea.us/7churches/

Preston, I am not going to be any more help to you than MJ except to try to save you time you are wasting in looking for what almost certainly does not exist. Church buildings (which is what I am assuming you are asking for) were not constructed until 2-3 centuries after the time most conservative scholars date the book of Revelation (before 100 A.D.). You can read a short statement about that here.
Second I doubt you or anyone now living could tell us when the height of power for any of the seven churches was, greatly complicating your search.
Third, except for the more prominent cities (such as Ephesus) I doubt artistic reconstructions of these cities exist. Maps showing where existing ruins have been found, yes, but not artistic reconstructions. I've found that not even photos of the ruins are easy to find.
I cannot prove such images do not exist, but I am highly skeptical and would be skeptical of any actual image anyone could produce. Perhaps you know this already, but early church history has little documentation of any kind. After Constantine that began to change. Before that time our knowledge of the church is very incomplete. Where churches met, how large they were, when they were at their peak, etc. isn't known except in a very few cases (see the Book of Acts, for example).
I think you are looking for what doesn't exist.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but they didn't have cameras with very high resolution back then. Only 2 kilopixels. Also the technology has changed substantially in the two millennia, so even if any images have survived, we certainly wouldn't have the hardware to be able to open them today.

I would search the web for each place. Most major archaeological sites have websites, and if they're well done, they may well include a reconstruction.
