BUG: Continuous update download of Bible Knowledge Commentary

Bible Knowledge Commentary continuously downloads an update on both of my Android devices each time I run the "Bible" app. This has been occurring for the past 2-3 days. I am running the latest beta of the bible app.

I have tried removing the resource from the devices, and also hiding/unhiding the resource on the Logos Desktop.

Any ideas?

I am running beta 4.3.3 and have the BKC downloaded to my Android phone.

Like Graham, I am unable to reproduce the issue. Can you possibly capture a screenshot of the "updating" process? Also, is the resource set to be downloaded to your mobile device? Your initial post has nearly the same timestamp as the resource itself, which seems impossible because once resources are ready for Logos Desktop it takes another 18-24 hours for them to become available on mobile devices.

Yes, it was downloaded and still is set to download on Tab 2 (removed it from Note 2).
I just confirmed that there resource information is the same. My original post was done late at night early in the morning EST.

Additional action I have performed since my last post: I removed and reinstalled the app from the Galaxy Tab 2, however I get the same results. Here is the screenshot of the Tab 2. Thanks

Please send us your Support Info so we can take a look at the app logs. The option is available under the Help menu.

Yes, but I'm not seeing anything apparent in the log. Have you checked the amount of available space on your device?

Yes, on the Note 2, there is 4.58GB available. On the Tab 2, there is 81.95MB available. There wasn't an issue before the resource was updated. The strange thing is that it is occurring on both of my devices and it appears as though no one else is experiencing this. There were no recent update on either of the devices. I'm curious if it may be a problem with the resource update and Samsung devices. It would be nice if someone with a Samsung device can chime in and confirm.

Note: For some reason, been having a forum issue with "Non matching quote blocks in post", so I took the quote out.

Noticed that there are 2 different resource numbers for BKC.

LLS:29.1.1 2014-06-25T23:26:40Z (on the Android)

LLS:29.1.1 2014-02-03T18:34:31Z BKC.logos4 (on Desktop)

Would this have something to do with the problem?

FYI: I downloaded the BKC on the Vyrso and Bible Study apps to see if the issues was related to the just the Bible app. It's not, the same issue is present on each of the apps.

We're actively working to find the problem...we almost took a picture of the 4 developers sitting in the office working on it this afternoon. [:)] We did figure out that the issue affects everyone who has BKC downloaded on Android, and also is happening with at least two other resources. We hope to learn more in the morning.

Kevin and I originally misunderstood your report...we thought you were saying the download failed and restarted repeatedly, rather than the download succeeding and re-downloading when you restart the app. I can reproduce it on all my devices now (Kevin is out this week)

Hi,

Just to say I have the same problem on 2 Android devices with the Bible Knowledge commentary and also with the NET Bible. Both keep re-downloading every time I connect the devices to the internet and run the Bible app.

The repeated downloading issue on Android should now be resolved. There seems to still be an issue with Logos Desktop not finding the new versions of these resources, but Android should now be all set. The affected resources will now download one more time when you next start up the app, but the time they'll download the correct version and shouldn't try to update again.

I actually did a force close on the app and restarted it to check this out earlier today (when I posted above) but still didn't get the problem.

But as it's fixed probably no longer an issue!
