That's a much better pre-pub price. Thank you, Logos! Smile

Mathew Voth:

They really need to have an upgrade price for those of us who have the original set...hard to justifu buying both!

I completely agree. I already have Colin Brown's original, plus Kittel. I cannot justify spending $150 for an update of Colin Brown.

Warning! It looks to me like the "package" deal for the NIDNTTE plus the NIDOTE is for the older edition, not the newer.

Regarding the possible "advances" in the newer edition of the NIDNTTE, James Barr's Semantics of Biblical Language raised many questions about earlier approaches to "theological lexicography". Moises Silva studied under Barr and F.F. Bruce at Manchester, so one may hope that Barr's influence is evident in the newer edition.

That's the same as Zondervan's early bird offer

I'm delighted that Logos has dropped the price. Anything in Logos is more accessible. Especially so regarding lexical works. Buying this in bound book just wouldn't cut it unless one was reading through the whole work for some reason.

Beloved:

Oh great joy! This is scheduled to ship Dec 5, 2014, an early Christmas gift.

The only Xmas I'll be getting may be a resource that's on sale or L6 in Spanish, if it comes out this year - otherwise, I'm very, extremely well served with L6 Standard Platinum, Silver for SDA, Reformed, Anglican, Pentecostal/Charismatic AND Starter for Lutheran and Baptist.  My Chaplain upgrade will pretty much be almost free at 18 cents for me (pending $50 bucks Logos credit).  Plus, iPhone 6 Plus came to me today along with a nice wireless device for laptop and iPad -- so what more could I ask for? God continues to be so Good! Praise His Holy Name!

In case anyone is still sitting on the fence regarding this resource Zondervan Academic is currently offering a free 45-page primer. I found it helpful and so I thought others might as well.

Sounds like you have indeed been blessed. I have had a 6 Plus on order for over 3 weeks now but it still has not come. I'd be interested to hear how you like using Logos on it.

I compared the primer and the older version of the resource and discovered that some articles are updated much more than others (which should be expected).  Also, sometimes updates are simply a word or two difference in certain sentence (if that can be called an update).  My main concern is that the new version does not have the articles signed by the previous authors (at least in the primer).  Surely Zondervan is going to give credit to the authorian team regarding their work in the full version!

One HUGE difference is the font on my books, it's much larger when you adjust it than it was with my iPhone 5s.  I had it to the max with the old phone and now I have to keep it a little bit less than the max so it won't be TOO big.  Great phone and battery lasts longer.  Approximately 12 hours of browsing or 24 hours talking on the phone which obviously lasts longer since nobody talks 24 hrs on a phone.  You will definitely enjoy the 6 Plus!

Ps. By the way, I just went to T-mobile yesterday and they just happened to have the phone, so I used my "JUMP" privilege to get me the new phone and some Super wireless modem that gives me fast unlimited internet for 15 bucks a month, compared to 60 bucks with my former internet provider.  Not bad!

NIDNTTE

appears to be out at least according to Zondervan site. If anyone is able to see a print version (rather than the primer) I would be very interested to know if it is an improvement on the Brown version. I have neither so can jump either way. Oh, I see that logos is currently a couple of dollars cheaper than Amazon Smile

The primer does have a nice table showing a comparison of the two versions. My problem now is that they knock the old version enough to make me; well if I had the old print version they would go to a used book store to help fund the new version.

Wish Logos could offer some trade in\up value for a resource like this that gets upgraded to a pretty much whole new thing and leaves the old version less useful. They claim Silva keeps only the most useful parts but this means there will be overlap.

Hummm. Sure sounds good but, hummm.
